@@CyborgSodaCollects Malcolm was supposed to get $100,000 for his role, he also requested 2.5% of the total box-office revenue for his role. But he was informed by Kubrick that his request for the latter was denied. Later on, Malcolm met some of the WB execs who congratulated him for the success of the movie and finally becoming a millionaire. He was shocked when they told him that they agreed to give him a share of the profits and asked Kubrick to deliver it to him. But apparently, he never gave it to him.

I love how Warner Bros and Leon Vitali are restoring ALL of Kubrick’s films in proper working order. Shining, 2001, Fullmetal Jacket, Clockwork, and the non-WB films like Spartacus & Dr. Strangelove. Barry Lyndon is a must!

favorite film ever. saw a screening of this at the Aero in Santa Monica with Malcolm in attendance, and then he spoke post screening. He thanked us for laughing, to him the film is a comedy.

What an experience! I thought the movie was disturbing when I first saw it as a teenager. But on subsequent views grew to see the black humor. Great mix of horror and humor throughout.

I saw this movie when it came out. I was 20. I thought it was a masterpiece back then. But I was always into film. When u watch now it kind of seems what our society had become. Another film is Escape to New York. Also it’s sequel. Escape to LA. Lots of the sci fi and futuristic films are all coming true now. A more recent one is The Giver! And Equilibrium!’

I’ve seen this movie in my film class a few years back. Our film instructor was showing it to his students to understand the definition of an anti-hero in cinema. Alex is the perfect example of that definition.

This movie is a classic. Compared to a lot of movies out there, it's not as shocking as most people made it out to sound. Heck, the original cut was like 4 hours long, and even then after that, they had to cut 3o seconds from 2 scenes so it wouldn't be rated X. And it inspired one of my all time favorite video games, We Happy Few.

book is more brutal and darker. Although storywise is somehow similar, Kubric had to change some scenes because it was too much even for him

One of the best opening shots in any film. And, as film critic Alexander Walker said, it's "untouched by time". Many 70s films look dated, but Kubrick's masterpiece could have been made yesterday.

I must admit... I am 34 years old and until today i was convinced, that "A Clockwork Orange" is a movie from the 90s/ early 2000. And since i´ve only seen pictures from the movie and the main charakter, i thought it was Ewan Mcgregor.... Today i found out the movie is more than a half a century old....

If you're based in the UK, it didn't release over here until the early 2000s as there were concerns over copycat incidents. It did get a very limited theatrical release when it was first brought out (One cinema in London, I think?) but otherwise, didn't come out over here until well after it was due.

There's something about this film that really gives me the urge to go into filmmaking. It's so masterfully done. The same can be said for all of Kubrick's films. In fact, he's inspired many of today's great filmmakers.

Just you then!!! Hopkins isn't athletic enough to kick people in the head and he lives behind glass so probably wouldn't be granted day release to act in this. Imagine lunchtime the rest of the cast wouldn't want him around if he was hungry.

A Clockwork Orange brings with is a strong critique of society, showzinho scene of violence previously little explored, the language used, the narrative is perfect, the best in the history of cinema in my opinion, photography and soundtrack border on perfection. A clockwork Orange It’s a film Far ahead of its time and it gave me a passion for cinema, so that’s why It’s my favorite film, because of its construcion, plot, photography, score, language and especially the shock it causes, sepalino to everyone, Cinema does not only serve as a means of entertainment but as means of expressiom, point of view and criticism.
