Eric Johnson had his 1954 "Virginia" Stratocaster when he recorded Tones and the Platinum Ah Via Musicom, ground-breaking albums that made him a hero to music fans and guitarists alike. To this day, Eric continues to release brilliant music, tour constantly and is, to the electric guitar community, and widely followed tastemaker. In 2020, for the first time, Eric's 1954 Virginia Stratocaster will be replicated by both Fender Custom Shop and the Fender Corona Production line.

I might be mistaken, but I believe only one coil is wired up in the Dimarzio bridge pickup, so it is used as a single coil.

Out of phase/position 4 is definitely a signature sound of EJ's. It's how he gets the Koto sound.

400+K pots...the HS-2 is wired for one coil, that's a Graphtech saddle on the high E.

Great playing a always .. How does the Virginia compare to EJ 's other models ? I have the rosewood EJ and love it.. Playing wise , it 's neck is perfect for me and acoustically it's loud and rings forever . Looking at getting this one .. Thanks for the demo ....

Narrower nut width, hotter bridge pickup, neck profile has less “shoulder” mass, out of phase neck and middle position, 400k volume pot, different (graphite) high e saddle, string tree vs staggered tuners, two piece sassafras vs two piece alder body, backplate vs none on original EJ sig, etc.

Jack how did you get that thick overdrive? Was that just the MXR Joe B drive?

HS-2 is one my favorite strat pickups. Not IN THE LEAST "hotter output" as stated here and I've only ever run mine both coils on. In fact, they are same output as the 57/62 at best. HS-3 are the same stock output way, but with a bit fatter mids. They do sound killer!!
