When I saw the acrylic case, I initially thought you'll hook up a compressor/vacuum pump to simulate various sea levels.
@KonradTheWizzard

...like the sea level on Earth, the sea level on Venus (that one is tricky!), the one on Tau Ceti b, ....? SCNR. I assume you meant various air pressure levels or altitudes? Yeah, that was my first thought too.
@Sukrim
@Sukrim 3 жыл бұрын
@@KonradTheWizzard Technically there are also multiple sea levels on Earth, depending on jurisdiction. Also practically, since tides exist. But yeah, I of course meant altitudes, thanks for the correction. ;-)

@@Sukrim the stuff with the different sea level definitions bit the people when they constructed a bridge between Switzerland and Germany... I'm sure you can find articles about that incident.

Your fear of high voltage have made the build really sane! Even the "crudeness" looks professional to me. I figured out you had some help, since very few DIY guides actually leads to regulated output voltage/current. The schematics floating around the net mostly push as much power as doable into a arc.

I went to one of the world's largest testing facilities for high voltage/amperage in the world, as soon as they needed to manipulate anything powered on at any Amp or Volt they use rubber gloves, similar to long sleeved washing up gloves. Any really high voltage, like the generator with monitors which powered our device, was in a sealed room. With even higher voltage causing they pumped the testing chamber full of gas which breaks arcs, I needed to sit through a training video before I was even allowed on-site

have you thought about placing the electrodes in a pressurized chamber, in which the pressure can be increased or decreased
@strangerparts
@strangerparts 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this is typically how this type of experiment is done. However, A) I don't have a pressure chamber B) It would have been much harder to film it in action and C) I thought it was cooler to do high voltage experiments in the middle of nowhere 😁

Have you talked about why & how you randomly decided to move into a native American pueblo? It seems like a very strange thing to do, and I can't figure out why you did it. Someone else said in the comments it was because of CoV, but that sounds like nonsense because there's no logical exclamation for that reasoning.
