I found excellent collections of thagkas in the antique shops of Darjiling, West Bengal (India). They were indeed mind- exalting and a treat to look at! One can easily feel its sacredness by even a simple glance. I was fortunate to buy one to my home. :D

Some regard the depiction of Shakyamuni holding a bowl as the "medicine Buddha" as he is also called "healer of the world".

After all these you just come here just to say this belong to nepal, just like bhudha belongs to nepal and now yoga also belongs to nepal. Pathetic. Torpe will always be torpe.

Bruhh ya Nepali are out of control. trust me Nepal wasn’t even on scene. All these small Tibetan warlords were in control of upper part present day Nepal. Half other half are Indian.

Dude it is make of human skin. history of slavery

Before the communists liberated Tibet, Thangka were made from young girl's skin. The monks treated farmers like slaves, there are thousands of documents recorded the atrocity of the Tibetan monks. Dalai Lama's Tibet is an extremely inhuman world. Every time they performed rituals, they will need lots of human bones, blood, skin, intestines, heads. I'm not sure about freeing Tibet is actually good for the low-class Tibetans.
