The pets being eaten started with a Facebook post that said, "My neighbors daughters friend saw her dog get taken by Haitian migrants". First off it's ridiculous and debunked. Second, the Haitian immigrants in Springfield are for the most part all there legally to fill local jobs. The PBS special report showed that they were the most reliable and hard-working employees, and the management said that they have benefitted the individual factory, and boosted the local economy.
@CorwinFound3 ай бұрын
Immigrants eating pets is also not new. It's about as old as calling them vermin and just as racist. When I was a kid in the 80's there were regular accusations and jokes about Asian immigrants stealing and eating cats. As then and now, they were legal immigrants that also boosted the economy. And yes, strain on a local infrastructure like schools, housing and hospitals is a legitimate concern. That is solved by investing in those things with the lovely new tax dollars brought in by hard working immigrants, further boosting the economy. Immigration is almost universally good for towns, states, and countries. Springfield was very literally a dying city before Haitians started moving in. It's now growing economically and culturally.

15:40 - The orange man didn't just take the bait, he swallowed the whole fishing pole. He fell for it every. Single. Time. It was masterful and cathartic in a way I didn't think was possible within the realm of politics. Harris came into the debate knowing what she needed to do: be "Generic Democrat™" for an evening, thread some difficult needles regarding policy specifics to appeal to undecided voters, establish herself as separate from Biden without diminishing the Administration's accomplishments, and, pivotally, invite Donald Trump to beat himself up on a national stage. She did all of these things in spades. For those concerned with the vagueness or seemingly "undecided" nature of her policy statements I would remind them that this debate wasn't _for_ we who would consider ourselves progressives. It wasn't _for_ voters who have already made their decision. She was making her case to that thin sliver of undecided and mobile voters while doing her best to shore up any perceived "weaknesses" that could be exploited by the GOP. Besides, it's not like the debate stage is a great place for nuanced policy discussion - two minutes to explain complex socioeconomic issues in full? Seems more than a little bit like trying to publish a research paper on Twitter, which... well, seems pretty ridiculous to me.

To my knowledge as the war turned and the Germans were pushed back, the Generals quickly learned to "limit" their reports to Hitler because his response to bad news was so out of control. He would blame anyone and everyone he could, often with lethal consequences both for the persons blamed and the army as a whole (which isn't good when already suffering military setbacks to destabilize the upper ranks that much), and would be in an unreasonable rage for days afterwards. Unfortunately often there would only be more bad news to come- so obviously they stopped reporting it. Until it was undeniable, and everyone could tell just how bad it was during the last days of the war. By then Hitler had retreated to his bunker and had ordered the "Scorched Earth"- which they also lied to him about.

That and the fact she said nothing that could be considered factual or remotely interesting about herself or her 'plans' other than that she had 'plans' and was brought up as a middle class American. Voters learned ZERO about her. Harris told 10 lies, many of which have been debunked over and over again. ZERO fact checks. The moderators were commenting on Trump's true statements. That shouldn't occur in debates. They should not express their opinions. Like they said it was a lie that there were babies being killed after they survived abortions. The moderators weren't evidently familiar with the bill Tampon Timmy signed that allowed that to happen. Trump knew about this barbaric practice and condemns it. Harris supports it. My favorite line by Donald Trump was about how Joe Biden spends all his time on the beach. Coming from a guy who spent half his Presidency on the golf course is beyond ironic. And in the beginning, when VP Harris introduced herself to Trump (so he knew the correct way to pronounce her name) was priceless.
@HappyOne-jh9gm3 ай бұрын
He's so jealous of Biden, especially since Trump no longer has the luxury of spending carefree time anywhere due to his many court cases which he will lose considering he loses the election. He'll be in prison in his old age while Biden is at the beach or equivalent beautiful locations. If he hadn't been so mean spirited and hateful to the point of being dangerous, one would have empathy for the ignorant soul who tried so hard to be 'liked'!

Trump does have a lot of nerve to criticize Biden for beach time. During his term he spent 307 days on the golf course That's 10 months out of a 4 year term, that's 21% of his term in office This was the man that said he wouldn't have time for golf 1460 days is 4 years. 307golf days ÷1460=0,21 21% More time off than any other president by far
