I have photographed all these homes. I have been on many Kennedy Home Tours when visiting America. The last I had to see was La Gurieda at 1095 North Ocean Blvd in Palm Beach, Florida.I visited there in February of 2020. The Kennedy compound at Hyannis Port will always be the houses that remind me of them as there were so many photos taken there? I did a tour MANY years ago that showed all the Boston homes of all the Kennedy Clan...that started a lifelong love affair and a determination to see every home! Took 30 years and many, many hours of international flights but I did it!

I admire Jackie’s taste in home interior design, and fashion too. As someone who is not a fan of the trends of the 60’s and afterwards, Jackie’s taste imo was a pinnacle point in modern design. The reason is that she was not trendy but she was chic, and had a respect for classical taste that is bound to be timeless. Thus her style is defined by elegance, but understanding how it can be evolved in the future as forward thinking while giving a node to historical designs as a base for it to work in any period. Imo, design in modern aesthetics has instead clashed as it follows more of the consumer market of creating quantity over quality and trends have been a waste of time and resources. That is something that I admire about the regions that respect historical architecture that knows how to improve a space without getting stuck only having to restart over. Lately, I give credit to the lockdown, more people are starting to relook at how they style their homes in a more beneficial way for both the homeowners in the long term and for the building. Jackie’s style imo is a great place to look for inspiration because she beautifully created each of her homes a blend with the old and the new without clashing, but balancing it just right to work together.

D'accord! Her taste, whether it be her personal style or her choice of interiors, was a perfect balance b/t a reverence to the classic/historical basis (design or architecture) and a restrained step into what is considered a "Contemporary" flair or influence, noting her affinity for designs by Oleg Cassini and Valentino, who both brought an innovative eye and classic training to their creations. Ils etaient parfaits pour Jacqueline! However, I believe her GREATEST contributions were her restoration of the White House, reclaiming many of the home's antiques and original pieces for the project and truly transcending beyond its former looks to the heightened, transcendent, inspiring overall presence it deserved. We all owe Jackie for that accomplishment! Jacqui's 2nd most remarkable and historic contribution was her plan for her husband's funeral. Using Lincoln's historic funeral as her guide. Jacqui, in the midst of unfathomable grief and shock, crafted her husband's iconic, military funeral procession, mass and burial. Altho I am sure she had assistance with all of this, her inspired vision (historic and appros-pos, given both were assassinated US presidents), her sense of duty to our nation and perpetuity, and, finally, her deep devotion to her husband are that of legends. Jacqui was truly amazing.

The first residence must be the most beloved, it was the Begining of their marriage. The white house had another ambiance when the Kennedy family lived in there. Jackie remodeled every room the best way. It was the proper residence of a President. She was a glamorous First Lady.

My favorite would be the last home she and JFK would have. That was of their own creation. I am sure Jackie made most of the design but with her husband's desires included. She would have her horses and he would have a place to relax and enjoy the play of their children as the last of their home movies have shown. Unfortunately, that time was cut short. But it was the home they together build for themselves and that is why I pick it.

Has anyone noticed that seemingly Jackie left many of her White House Residence furniture behind? I saw a picture of LBJ in 'his' bedroom with the exact same furniture that JFK had. I also saw a picture of Lady Bird with in the Central hall residence with the very same Screen Dividers at the end as did the Kennedys. Just a thought? maybe she didn't want a lot of the stuff because she knew it would've reminded her of that time, and her husband.

I think most young people choose someone to admire. Nowadays it would be a musician or a someone from Love Island but when I was 10 or 11 years I admired Jackie Kennedy and wanted to copy her style and grace. I wanted to know her opinions on everything and remember watching the tour of the White House here in the UK. I still would want to emulate her today rather some celebrity star with tattoos and all the fake cosmetic surgery.
@Bronte866

Young people of Jackie’s class exist today as they did then. I can reliably report that young people of refinement & education would not be likely to choose tattooed musicians but rather someone of similar background as themselves.

I was 20 days old when President Kennedy died. For some reason and I don't know why, I developed an obsession with Jackie around the 6th grade, and I've haven't tired of her yet. It's probably her impeccable style, both in dress and lifestyle, but more so because she was, and still is, distinctively different from any other famous person period. She's one of the very few famous people I ever had any fascination with, especially her physical appearance. She was just so strikingly different looking. She is only second to CS Lewis, which incidentally died the same day as JFK.

She had such style. She was not a pretty woman, instead her face was not symmetrical and it was broad and too much distance between her eyes but she "decorated" herself and educated herself in such way that she appeared to be quite beautiful, albeit she was glamorous and educated, beauty evaded her.

N’importe quoi. Elle était belle. Une des plus belles femmes du monde. La classe, l’élégance comme aucune et l’éducation. Je l’adorais. Gloire à Madame Jackie Kennedy. La splendide First Lady.

Many people do not agree with you! Jackie was very beautiful! The distance between her eyes was fine and there’s nothing wrong with broader cheekbones. Plus, JFK Jr was extremely handsome, and he got all his looks from his mother! If you look a little closer at several photos, it’s very clear that his looks came from his mother.

She was indeed beautiful. Naturally beautiful all of her life. I find that comment catty, disrespectful & suspect.

@@deboraholsen2504 That's fine. I had seen her in person and though I admired her greatly, I still did not find her a natural beauty, but she had great style and taste in attire and decor and the family had the money to pay for that. Fortunately, she left a legacy for the Kennedy administration and other FLOTUS to emulate. However, many had great taste. You just did not witness it up close as hers was the first to be given such wide audience but her youth made her even more impressive in that such a young woman was so refined.

Well one has to say she was delightfully special and he was very attractive didn't the whole world just love them. Jackie's beginnings with JFK were ideal. Politics and media and other predatory females sure set about tearing them to shreds".No show for punch without Judy."Not to mention Lyndon Johnston's and the FBI"s final barbaric act. Beautiful homes as expected..To think those same politicians are still in power today.and worse.

I believe it was Betty Ford who insisted that she and President Ford sleep in the same room. Prior to then, all Presidents and First Ladies slept separately (or at least had separate bedrooms).

So sad as she had a wonderful education , work experience , etc. which could have led to an amazing lifetime career in multiple areas ; not criticizing her choice to be a wife & mother but have read that she was advised ( warned ? ) of her future husband's cheating / deceitful behavior . Fortunately for we US citizens , she bro't intelligence , grace , dignity & culture to the White House thanks to her education & life skills achieved " before " marrying & again later in her life , these traits were quietly yet remarkably visible to the world .

@@sheilacarey347 I DID come from that era. Jackie knew from the beginning, when she started dating him, that he was a cheater. She ALWAYS knew he would screw around on her. But she wanted the money and status anyway. THAT WAS NOT A SYMPTOM OF THE ERA.

Also , very few , if any , of my friends' moms ( white collar mid / upper middle class ) worked outside the home .
