Another excellent OPB film featuring folks who care enough to work hard to care for our wildernesses. It takes gumption and willingness to commit to the long haul. Thanks!!!

I.salute these young people who make it possible for old folks like myself to hike this ultra rugged mountain range. Glad to see OPB take an interest.

WHEW! A 26 mile trail through that rugged country! Epic and WAY too long of a hike tho. No one lives In thousands of square miles in that SW Oregon area.

Maybe... an open campfire isn't such a good idea in that area

It depends on the time of year.

That's funny, I took my chainsaw deep into that forest and cleared trails.

The government has a regulation that you can't bring a chainsaw into a forest because it will cause a forest fire. However, there isn't a forest anymore Mr. Bureaucrat.😵😷 (Posted July of 2020)

The wilderness areas have a restriction on all mechanized tools. The power tools can be used in the Forest Service lands, I have a firewood permit for 10 cords. Interesting, the latest fire east of Gold Beach, Oregon, the Flat fire (started by the target Tannerite) firefighters were allowed chainsaws in the west portion of the wilderness to try to stop more damage.

@gheberly213 Firemen using chainsaws to help put out fires is fine. Thanks for your reply, and may God bless you!
