Absolutely great video; so clear and upfront with how he arrives at every price. And keeps is simple by not pricing everything out and not having too many different piles of prices. I recently have finally sold some cards on ebay but have so many to sell and it's really a lot of work which is tough with family and work; about 15,000 duplicates from 1960 to 1975 in EXMT or better for 80 or 90% and 1,000's more from 1976 to 1990. I'm so unorganized and so lazy but should get it together and reach out to Chris.

@livefreeordie55133 жыл бұрын
If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby they sell a 10 power lighted loupe for about $10. Buy a couple cheap re-prints and commons from vintage sets and compare them. The easiest way to spot a fake of a vintage card is to look at the part of the card that should be the color of the card stock (a part of the card that wasn't printed on). The card back is usually a good place to find these. On a genuine card you'll see the fibers of the card stock in these areas, no ink, just bare paper. On a fake, this part is usually printed and you'll see a dot matrix type print pattern in these areas. Of course, there are some better fakes out there, but through this method you'll eliminate probably better than 90% of fakes.

Its hard to define as its sort of a matter of experience. Ive seen/held a lot of those cards over the years and its obvious to me, but there isnt a specific reason. Its like a combination of the colors, pixelation, fell of the card stock, etc.

Aloha Chris, fantastic nostalgia video with a trip down memory lane. The cards in the PSA 7 are just amazing cards, the 8, 9 and 10 versions must be otherworldly. I was born in the early 60’s and played little league baseball in the late 60’s. My position third base. Although Ron Santo was a great HOF third baseman, he was not Brooks Robinson! No disrespect to Santo fans as he is a HOF’er. Robinson like Ripken are great family men who were great at baseball. Besides the astronauts landing on the moon in 1969, I got to play the hot corner. My dad who was not into sports took time out of life to help coach my baseball team. Dad’s were and are very special. Thanks again!

I got no low ball offers, that completely shocked me and this is FB group dedicated to Cal's cards with some very serious collectors. People seem to always want to take advantage of you when your trying to sell. I hate it. I had one delusional guy wanting all the raw. But he expected me to go through all of them and give him card date, manufacturer, card # and detailed condition of each. Pictures were not good enough for him. I explained to him that was what a collect himself does and he expected everyone he bought from to do all the leg work. He got very nasty and I blocked him.

Was just at my parents house for the holidays and found some great cards. My brother and I collected Jordan's in the 90s. Saw you go over a few of them fairly quickly and think they were in the ~$1 grouping. Was it because of condition/unable to grade? I have some rookies from that era and some rookies in football and baseball. Lots of junk wax but in pretty decent condition. Just trying to see what my best option with everything is. Will likely keep a good number of my Jordan's as they likely will only go up in value and have a few autographed ones in the set.

If you figure that PSA wants to get back down to 10 each, isn't it worth holding those Clemens and Duncan cards until grading prices come down a bit? Chris, most of the other vloggers in the hobby clearly have connections that compromise their messages (maybe they do ad reads for eBay, or they're trying to get us to do breaks with them, etc.) Even if they seem honest, they have that stain of compromised integrity because of those issues. Not having ad reads, etc. really lends more credibility to your channel. I know monetizing has to be a long-term goal for any vlogger, but if you do monetize your channel, I hope you avoid the ad reads. You can monetize without compromising integrity, and it's hard to find vloggers in the hobby that know how to do this.
