This is an incredibly enlightening lecture and presentation. I graduated from the school of the Museum of fine arts in 1983 with a BFA and spent my entire life visiting museums as well as painting in my studio. I had no idea that my wonderful school that launched me was also responsible for the first Monets. Having always believed that the collections were in New York I am so overjoyed to know what the Museum of fine arts in Boston did to acquire this impressionist. I have become so proud of my school all over again at the age of 64 and this lecture makes me feel due to a visit again.

It was Dr. John Walsh Jr., Curator of European Art and department head at the MFA in 1979 who purchased the Gustave Caillebotte "Fruit Stand" ... the same John Walsh who became director of the Getty Museum and put that museum on the map of must-visit museums in the world... AND Scott Schaefer, the Getty Museum's senior curator of Paintings since 1999 was Dr. Walsh's Assistant curator at the MFA. The painting department prior to Dr. Walsh and Mr. Schaefer was run by Miss Laura Luckey

Do you mean to call Cezanne an Impressionist? Moe-nay? Or MOHN-Ay ?
