I just love the thought that our wonderful creator takes the time to notice us and whisper the creative desire and ideas into our souls. And that we are most like Him when we create, whether it’s painting or gardening or baking or whatever form creativity takes.

It is uplifting to heAr you talking about the beautiful moments when , call it “gift” or “talent”or “inspiration “ has penetrated the harsh outer world of daily existence ( the tiger of your description) reaching the soul ( our delicate part of deepest understanding) connecting to our soul . That moment touches, wrapping us in a spell of openess, floating almost.... it is unreal. There is no tail for me to grasp. I become still. Wanting to be able to carve the ‘idea’ into mind and awareness..... then again daily life takes over whirling me off my thought, or only perception, or of a divine touch of my soul, or , call it a sudden‘ understanding ‘ ..... -it seems to elude wording or color or sound ....leaving me enriched but alone, without voice or song or instrument, or panel ... ???

Beautiful painting and thoughts. I'm also a songwriter, so every day I pick up the guitar or sit at the piano, keeping the channel open to see what comes through. Not every day is productive, but one thing is certain: if I don't show up and tune in, nothing will happen for sure. Inspiration is a strange alchemy, and music is something that happens, like a birth. A song will be born only when it's ready. Painting for me is a bit more organic and less dependent on inspiration, thank God. I can enjoy it in a different way, as part of the fabric of my day. But songs? They arrive. The muse can neither be threatened or summoned. It's fascinating. All of it.
