This took me a while to understand but heres how I will word it in case people are still confused. So the first 4 creatures that you are choosing to exile never leave the battlefield to begin. The paralax wave that you target will go on the stack, itgets exiled, a new trigger goes on the stack, which says return everything back which at that point the only thing that has been removed was the wave so that renters the battlefield, and then the other 4 triggers happen and they get moved and since the trigger that was supposed to bring them back has already resolved, they simply remain exiled. Again, if you were to target wave first, then the 4 creatures, what would happen is that the 4 creaures get exiled, wave gets exiled, trigger goes on the stack, thus returning all 5 thing to the battlefield, which you could use to abuse any of your enter the battlefield triggers.

Great stuff 👌👍

Can I do that when exile only 1 creature or has to be 4 ? Exile 1 creature and then exile parallax wave itself?
@Spencer46869 ай бұрын
Yes, the same triggers still happen. Parallax wave will exit and then trigger returning as a new permanent and whatever it exiled first is gone for good. 👌

Hate this combo, still doesnt make sense to me. Why would the first 4 exiled cards not return after it exiles itself? My opponent that played it said it simply forgets the original targets.

Once Parallax Wave has been exiled and returned (because of its own ability) it is a new card. (Physically the same card to the player but a new instance of the card in terms of game mechanics) So the original card which exiled the first 4 things no longer exists so the ability that brings them back cannot trigger.l as the card isn't their anymore. This works because everything is on the stack so it's not resolved. The stack being what is happening but not yet happened until it has resolved.

Sadly it's the way 'The Stack' works. The last thing added to the stack resolves first and unless your opponent has a response, everything on the stack resolves in reverse order. Now the only reason this broken combo works, is when all fading counters are removed as demonstrated in this video and on the stack. If the player using this combo removes a fade counter from parallax wave and that resolves, then later on they remove the rest, that first creature removed will return to the battlefield and the rest remain in exile. It's not so much that Parallax Wave forgets that it removed something, it's no longer on the battlefield when the stacked exile happens so they just exile... Then the return of Parallax Wave ETBs with full Fade counters and rise and repeat. But you can use this to flicker your own creatures and exile others... Depending on how you prioritize the stack.

It basically just un links the return clause

Wizards rewrote new cards to include the phrase "until leaves the battlefield" Older cards like Oblivion Ring and Wave have two abilities instead, one to exile and one to return. If return resolves first, then it can't stop the exile effect from making them go away forever, that's why in a nutshell.

@@brokenspritesit seems stupid still. "If parallax wave leaves battle, return bla bla" as soon as this thing exiled itself the exiled stuff should start returning to play. If parallax wave forgets its targets after coming back into play so what lol. The other stuff has to resolve still because PW LTB. This idea that blinking your PW keeps things in exile is some stack bs

So to do that I have to say Im holding my priority and then target creatures?
@Spencer46865 ай бұрын
You can let each trigger pass through priority if you want, provided your doing it on your turn because you will keep going back to your main phase where you hold priority again to start the next action. If your doing it in response or on someone else's turn you have to be careful as if it get backs to their main phase they hold priority until they do something so you have to wait for a game action to occur before you can trigger anything again. hope that helps.

Question to parallax tide how to do it like that to remove my 2 lands so they comeback and 2lands my opoonent stay exiled forever. Can I do it from my one parallax tide? If yes how has to be done?
@Spencer46867 ай бұрын
For parallax wave to target a land it needs to become a creature.. So if they turn their land into a creature you could target it. Or you could use 'enchanted evening' to make them enchantments and then 'opal essence' to make them also creatures but that would destroy all lands as they would become 0/0's,I including your own. So you would need a Benalish Marshall or some other creature lord to make sure your lands would have at least 1 toughness to survive the effect.

Tokens are exiled forever anyway, would've been more impactful to show regular creatures being exile forever
@Spencer46869 ай бұрын
Very True I was just using the tokens and physical representations of cards
