@nedgorski I've seen your video on flash powder vs black powder salutes, they were four inches. What if you tried making a 4 inch ball shell black powder salute, no booster, just plan 75/15/10 black powder or BP coated rice hulls, and used 3 times the reguler amount of gummed tape on it.

Great educational material as always. In the second shell second pics I know the black material is the burst charge, what is the white material?

Pasted circles & the wasp, they all look amazing though. How small of a shell is the wasp compatible for?
@nedgorski Жыл бұрын
I've taped as small as 3", and I think the machine could be tuned to even do smaller.

Yeah I just had a question wanted to see if somebody can answer. I'm trying to make some strobe fuel but can I substitute the ammonium perchlorate for potassium perchlorate? Would that work? Has anyone ever tried that?
@nedgorski8 ай бұрын
That will not work for strobe.

On the wasp shell you said it broke too hard. Would you explain the differance?
@nedgorski Жыл бұрын
It had more paper confining it than did the disc pasted heading. I was wondering whether or not more paper would be needed on the disc pasted one, or less on the WASPed one. That was part of the testing I was doing.

@@nedgorskii think hes asking what indicated to you that the shell broke too hard on the wasp shell? Was it because the break was wider and less symmetrical?
@nedgorski Жыл бұрын
Yes, it was wider and asymmetrical, Nag. It just appeared to have broken too hard@@NagashiChidorii

Hey ned I’ve been watching you videos over and over just wondering if you can’t get Argo laundry starch how do you make BLACK MATCH now??,
@nedgorski11 ай бұрын
Interestingly enough, since I make my granulated BP with no binder, and use 50:50 isopropyl-alcohol:water as the solvent, and I get good, hard grains, I decided to try that with blackmatch. It works great, so that's the only way I make match now. try it, you may like it.
@enthusiasticbanana62327 ай бұрын
@@nedgorski Wow really no binder for black match? I've made good bp without a binder, but for black match once I had too much alcohol and not enough water to activate the dextrin and it barely stuck to the yarn, very crumbly. At least I assume that's why it turned out bad. I did also try to make Black match without any binder back before I had dextrin and it didn't stick. I wonder why it works for you, Ned. 🤔
@nedgorski7 ай бұрын
@@enthusiasticbanana6232 Yep, it works great for me. Hot BP charcoal, no binder, and 50:50 isopropyl:water.
