I keep seeing people confuse the ending of khux, the dream eaters are NOT the dead kids, they are the kids chiritys if the kids decided to not disolve their heart into other.

Dream eaters are composed of both the chirithies and the sleeping hearts of the keyblade wielders; however, they are not fused, but rather the chirithies are encasing the hearts of the sleeping keyblade wielders in the form of living shields. Besides, the keyblade wielder is not conscious at all when the dream eater acts.

Honestly this might be a hot take, but even as a KH veteran I found the Dream Eaters endearing and loved them as replacements for Donald and Goofy. The customization and Pokemon collect em' all feel really helped this game become it's own noteworthy "spin off". I have a lot of love for the Kaeru family and Meow-Wow family of Dream Eaters.

I’d love to see them come back, maybe in a side title or something. I just think they’re fun and there’s room to take the concept further. Add like 10-15 new designs and you’ve got yourself a solid improvement on the DDD roster

Wouldn't be surprised if they do try this again, maybe a smaller roster for one of the worlds in KH4 (or even just a Meow-Wow and Komory Bat; would be sweet to see Sora be reminded of and start missing Riku from the Bat). It's unlikely, but it would be cute. Or a spin-off game encompassing some of the time spent looking for Sora.

You can obtain numerous Dream Eaters as you progress through the game, but you can only have three at the ready once a fight begins. Two will fight alongside you and the third can be swapped in much like how it was done in KH2. In my experience, the Lord Kyroo, Aura Lion, and Kuma Panda often had my back.

That wheeflower description and puns would fit in well in the actual game. The dream eaters you encounter start off smaller and cute in the first worlds, and eventually go to representing larger and scarier animals, such as tigers, dragons, and dinosaurs. They're rather silly, even for a crossover with cartoon Disney characters. Some of the colorations look super clean though, like the purple/blue/black one for nightmare Tyranto Rex.

The Aura Lion has a dear place to my heart. I have a best friend who was playing DDD during our freshman year of college, and he had some of the dreams be represented of me and some of our friends, he gave me the Aura Lion, one friend the Tyranto Rex, and our last (who is now an ex-friend to us) the Cera Terror.

Personally I absolutely adore all these designs, the bright clashing colors work with the surreal designs. I don't think they're gonna appear in bulk again but I liked what KH3 did including Meowwow as a summon, I hope they keep doing things like that tbh

Yeah I think they actually work well with the clashing colours and weird design elements (the extra legs in the cat) considering the game is supposed to be in a dream. Dreams can make things look strange without us always registering that they look strange because we aren't aware we are in a dream most of the time.

The Dream Eaters were a really fun idea for one game… the Pokémon-lite gameplay in particular was cute. Still, many don’t work for me as enemies as well as Heartless or Nobodies, and the designs aren’t as memorable as the best of those two groups, perhaps excluding Meow Wow which I both love for it’s cuteness and think is objectively well-designed to be the “face” of the Dream Eaters. As a whole, they’re more memorable than the Unversed, which to me might as well have been Heartless with how little their differentiating lore matters. They’re born out of Negative Emotion™, but how often does that really come up in BBS, and is that not already the source of Darkness, and thus the Heartless as well, anyway? They feel sort of redundant in a way that the Dream Eaters don’t, and their designs are also more bland even if the Dream Eaters slip into being tacky and overdesigned a bit (which at least fits the overall dream-based aesthetic direction).

I could imagine Queen Buzzerfly to be Wormy Closeup incarnate. I'm glad it isn't a Dream Eater, otherwise that'll be too much fauna related to plants altogether. I do have my concept for one: Chucken, Squirrel Dream Eater that copies other spirits' abilities. It'll be perfect as Isa's animal companion.

You know, we never truly needed venitus in monsters inc, like yeah it fit, but what did he do once thrown through several doors? Did he just leave? Or, more likely given the amount of pety assholeness we're talking here, could he have left some unversed there to scare kids? And if so, could the unversed become nightmares through that method of scaring kids into having such things and then absorbing themselves into it to sustain themselves? I feel like this could be a good spin off concept, where the days trio have to go through dreams to purge the remaining unversed or at least the dangerous ones. I mean, just anything to make the unversed unlinked from venitus would go a long way here, and it's not like anything says they can't do this, fusing unversed and a nightmares.

Man, I love like half of these guys' designs! Ryu dragon cause dragon, tyrant rex cause dinosaur, aura lion is cool, all three frogs are funny but my favorite is lord kyruu, electricorn, pseudoneku, and the magic bunny are also cool. And as a huge fan of classical music, I loved the fantasia level. Honestly, I've replayed DDD more than any of the other spin off games. ReCOM and BBB I feel like I have to grind a lot to play the way I want. But now that I have a save file with all my favorite dream eaters at star rank, I can just fire up a new game + and have all my boys right there from the start.

The Aura Lion, Keeba Tiger, Tyranto Rex, and Skelterwild are my favorite basic Dream Eaters, and the Wargoyle is my favorite boss Nightmare. Those stained glass wings and those friggin hammers combined with all that fire were pure badass in my opinion. I also prefer the Brute version of Hockomonkey over the Mage version.

Spellican can go die in a fire. I hated trying to chase that thing down. Oh, and Wargoyle can go join it. Also, I prefer the melee Hocko Monkey since I wasn't a big fan of Riku's basic combos, so the magic one became a bigger pain in my first couple of playthroughs. I love the Link Attack with the Frogs and Ryu Dragon. It dies a lot of damage, and I was able to basically become unkillable with the Passive Abilities they have. I got to where I could beat Julius at level 64 and with Kingom Key on Critical Mode on 3DS.
