I have used mine a few times but after watching your tones video I am now experimenting with tone settings. I was getting way too much chatter over iron rich cellar sites. I am going back over sites I "cleared" with my Garrett and am finding lots of relics but most are deep. I got a DSLEAF tactical rifle backpack to put my detector in - makes a great way to store and carry it. I use the small sniper coil in the woods and tend to use the pinpoint feature a lot.

Bought mine in February 2024 - Minelab had a three-coil deal which was hard to ignore. I normally use a GPX6000 or GPZ7000 prospecting. Decided to try treasure hunting with this VLF machine, it should be fun. The geology is quite different here in Australia - thanks for a great review.

Hi ben, the vdi range on the 900 is much different from the equinox 600 and 800, so it will take a little time to get used to the range, the bigger, thicker copper and bronze coins ring up really high in the VDI range, small hammered silvers can still come up in the 20,s however so dont ignore them

I'm thrilled with the updates from the 800. I can't decide which is my most favorite upgrade. Is it the flash light, the carbon fiber adjustable pole, the vibrating handle??? For me, it's actually that they printed the mode information directly on the machine, not on the screen protector cards. I hunt mostly in the ocean so I can't keep a protector on to save my life. I kid about that being my favorite update, though I am very happy that they figured that out. I have two 800's and I have never had an issue with flooding. If they got that figured out with the 900 then I just may have to get one. I do have the Manticore on order with no idea of delivery date. I may have to order the 900 just to have something to play with whilst I wait for the Manti. Thank you for such a great video! Cricket in Okinawa.

The price differance between the 800 reflects 900 yes they sorted the coil lugs and horrid grip but apart from that performance wise not much of a upgrade on 800

Its simple, dont go by VDI! use the tones first and foremost, vdi are just a back up
