I air tested 6 gold rings. VDI registered between 25 and 36, depending on size. Silver rings tested ranged from 73 to 91, with the 73 being a small silver ring made out of a 1921 Canadian dime. I will see what the numbers are in the ground when the snow is gone.

I cherry picked an event field in my local 100 year old park one summer a couple of years back. Had a Vanquish 440. The field was full of pull tabs and small bits of aluminium, and I mean full. I put in discrimination just on the verge of ring pulls. Battered the field for several weeks coming up with a 60 or so silver coins including a Victoria Crown and a 1696 William III shilling, a few modern rings and bangles. Fantastic summer that was. Almost nothing left in the high range on that field now except new drops

Have you had any issues with depth? I find my 900 doesn’t get very deep
@DigItDetecting
@DigItDetecting Жыл бұрын
To be honest, not really mate. I have found that so far the 900 punches quite deep, even in built up EMI areas. I recently shot a video hunting at an old school oval and only running the 900 at 23 or so sensitivity, I was still managing to dig 10 or more inches deep and hitting on coins👌 That was with the 11inch coil.
@CaptWolfbeard
@CaptWolfbeard Жыл бұрын
@@DigItDetecting I get nothing but heaps of messy noise still on mine and fine that excess noise only start to leave if I drop around 15 sensitivity or less. And tried scanning under my coil with me wedding ring and it struggles to scan much more then 3 inches or so away

Hi mate, i have the 900, whats the difference in the coils? When or why would one use the 6 inch smaller coil? Thanks
@DigItDetecting
@DigItDetecting Жыл бұрын
Hi there @Ben the main difference between the little 6 inch coil and the standard 11, would be firstly the obvious. Smaller 6" coil means less weight and easier to swing for longer periods, plus helps get in amongst rocks and branches alot easier being small and nimble. However the main benefits of the 6" coil would be the fact that it cover less ground, therefore allowing it to get In-between all those signals when hunting trashy sites. The big 11inch coil, as you can imagine is having to pick up and feedback alot more signals at any one given time, as opposed to the little 6 being able to individualise and separate those targets alot easier. Therefore making it alot easier for you to read the ground and hit on those nice signals even when hunting a very rubbishy area. I really hope this helps mate and be sure to check out some more of my previous videos, where I go hunting with the 6" coil on the Equinox and show it in action! It's a killer combo👌 All the best mate, I hope to catch you on that next adventure very soon👍⛏️

@DigItDetecting
@DigItDetecting Жыл бұрын
Im really glad you enjoyed watching @Neil Dejewski if the area you are hunting is not to trashy, best to drop your recovery speed down to 4-5 and run your iron bias low at 0 or even 1 (if digging to much rust) Cover the ground low and slow and it will help you uncover those good targets with ease. Not to say you won't get a bit of rubbish in between, but that's half the fun of detecting. Enjoy mate👍⛏️

Hey Luke, I've been using these setting for a bit now thanks!. Generally don't even dig much in the 90s. Seems to be 60 to mid 80s is the penny's and silvers, I was told the three pence is in the 30s tho? Anyways my friends were running there sensitivity at 10 where I had mine at 25, was stable there but still quite trashy common ground/park. I'm hearing targets everywhere! Its very busy on my ears and sometimes hard to hear the good targets. Alot of falsing. Would running at 10 just mask out alot of useless noise or am I missing something here? They get more coins than I do too lol. Any advice would be great! Im using the 900. They using a manticore. Thanks mate 👍
