This movie is so well done, written and acted by everyone. As the movie moves along, you learn more about the two characters played by Helen and Ian, and how they got to know one another. I remember getting so upset with Helen for allowing Ian to ingratiate himself with her. The movie ends with a huge plot twist that I didn’t see coming. I could see this movie again and again, that’s how good it is.

I was channel suffering one night and decided to watch this film. Wow, it is so very good! If only all scammers, cheats, thieves would get such a comeuppance!! Dame Helen Mirren is superb, as usual and so is Ian McKellen. Excellent performance by Jim Carter (of Downton Abbey fame).

I haven't watched this movie and am so glad of it. When it is shown the couple at dinner for the first time I picked what was to happen although I was off on the why. It matters not. I knew she would out smart him. This is why I love independant films. Not knowing the actors you can't guess the goodies or badies as often.

I think the ending was 'predictable' only in the sense that you sensed how the 'victim' was not going to be the victim. What you did NOT know was the motivation behind the twist, which made the ending so very satisfying and appropriate.

What perfect justice!!! Roy, aka Hans, made a living lying, cheating, and scamming everyone around him. But more importantly, he took advantage of a girl and her family. And even getting her family in trouble with the cops and lies to them about aligning with the enemy and getting her father killed, driving her mother to commit suicide. Even her sisters were killed after a bombing in the war. So she lost everyone she cared about because of Hans' greed and selfishness. She bided her time until she lured him in so she could gather all of the evidence she needed to prove he was a criminal. Even taking all of his money on top of it! She was the perfect con artist to pull off all of it! All to teach the piece of shit a lesson for what he did to her and her family decades earlier! What a hell of a story!!!
