@ Gregg Henriques. Excellent video and thanks for sharing. For the lay audience it would be nice to have a video expanding on how to apply CALM MO treatment modality for AVP and SA. I feel the guest interviewer dropped the ball on the last part of the interview when you were about to double click on your modality for treating what may well be the most prevalent psychological affliction.

“These people are incompetent.” Ouch. Otherwise, the rest is right on. Evolving my MO over my late 30s, 40s, 50s has saved me.

I know. A bit unnecessary. Especially considering that is part of the problem with people with AVPD. He's telling them the are irrational for thinking they're incompetent, and then calls them incompetent. Also calling them "fucked up" isn't great. He's a very smart guys, but needs to be a tad more sensitive. A woman wouldn't get away with that.

@@purplemonsoon8376 No joke! Scorn from a health professional is the opposite of helpful. I can understand exasperation from friends and family; I feel it for myself sometimes. I've become more discerning and careful about initiating relationships to avoid AvPD mixed signals, "fickleness," exasperation, for their well-being and mine.

Please share and make more people aware of this personality disorder or attachment. My own testimonial of having an ex bf who is avoidant resonates. I couldn’t put my finger why he seemed off during our relationship and kept trying to research about this. I kept wondering if him not having the same academic traits like his entire family or are always ball busting as he says they are just doing actually affected him negatively growing up. Please get this word out somehow. These people would never listen to us sharing our discoveries to them. My ex ran , hid, treated me so coldly when he couldn’t regulate.

Avoidance is a dysfunctional coping strategy. How can that be a personality disorder? I guess, there's often another personality disorder or (c)PTSD underneath it.
