This has to be the best discussion I’ve listened to…..thank you so much! This alone is worth more than the cost of one therapy session.

He says if you get really bad side affects then it’s best not to take medication but he says for some people with extremely severe trauma they might need medications. But what about if those people get extremely bad side affects?

There are 2 lists; (1) benzoinfo.com/doctors (2) www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/14971-recommended-doctors-therapists-and-clinics/ Aside from that, you can join any of the support groups and/or forums and list your location and see if you can find anyone else w/ a cooperative MD nearby. Some people just educate themselves and taper on their own, as well, without a doctor assisting, if they can't find one - of course, it's ideal to have one on board, if you can. Good luck!

he's speculating on why people are sensitive even though everybody spends most of the time on computers at work and often under social stress. He's trying to frame playing/having down time as the problem/root cause of problems rather than a coping mechanism from social stress. And often that social stress come from these kinds of people that concoct assumptions which they use to inflict and pathologize others including friends and family. Pathologizing has because a disease in society today, and one way to gaslight victims of bullying is to pathologize them based on some truths from the past, as a way to bybass helping them in the present. Putting the burden of change on victim's past traumas alone is a form of victim blaming and dismissing present context It's also a sign that the therapist is incompetent and wants to 'freudise 'his work as a way to seem competent. He seems like he's copied all his ideas from Gabor Mate's book, who's a self-help cash grabber and not even specialized in the field. Marketing and vague authoritative speculation is a source of income in this self-help industry and he's oozing snake oily self-helpy new-agey stuff

@andaneo2063 I thought only I was seeing it that way! It looks like he takes his own case and decided that is valid for everyone. It encourages people to self-diagnose themselves and believe they were given the magic solution. Also I’ve seen in people I know closely that when they are told that their childhood trauma is the cause of all their disorders or incapacities, they feel and act more like victims and keep blaming others for their problems instead of taking the responsibility and trying to change something that is in their power.
