One of the founders of 1620 recently had a chance to sit down with Carl Murawski of youtube prodcut review fame, to talk skilled labor. They chat about the path he took to get to where he is at now and how a young person could enter the trades, in todays day and age. Carl has been a longtime supporter but it is not something that happened overnight. He also has held our brand to a high standard and the partnership has driven us to constantly focus on making more durable, longer lasting gear that stands up to the test of the modern working man.
In Carl's words: "Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford." We could't agree more. We hope you enjoy this conversation and please feel free to join in the comment section below and subscribe!

It was a real pleasure to meet and speak with you! As a guy who has spent most of my life on the jobsite, the 1620 gear has served me without fail. In fact, the shirt I'm wearing in this video is one of my favorites... I'm wearing it right now!

Carl's shirt here is great. The snaps instead of buttons and no huge logo on the pocket is fantastic.

I used to be a commercial fisherman, and also worked in construction. Now I am a real estate agent and the hard work I do in my yard or cutting and splitting wood or snow removal. I own a bunch of 1620 gear and it is incredible!

Keeping in contact with the end user is so important. Josh thank you for working hard to make 1620 a company that produces quality work wear. And Carl thank you for doing reviews on work wear and the likes. It’s nice to get an honest take on products without having to find out the hard way.

Work in HVAC for decades and 1620 work clothes definitely most comfortable, durable, handy clothes I've worked in . They're also great for everyday wear and fact 1620 is made by American hands with American materials is best part.

Props to Carl for admitting to working reasonable hours and not claiming 96 hrs/wk MINIMUM! 😅

I know one thing that the electrical union can do in Boston and that’s changed their hiring process. I remember when I took my test I was watching kids next to me who I knew were absolutely not gonna make it. Kill me in that test. I didn’t get picked because of that. I am now licensed and there is not a person that I have worked for or with that has ever told me I am not one of the best workers they have ever worked with. I take pride in that and I make it a point to hear that from every person I work with.

There are also a bunch of guys out there who are nearing retirement from their corporate career, love to learn a new skill and have a desire to be self sufficient. (horrible welder - decent grinder) There is no better way for me to shed the stress of my day job than to slip on my 2.0 or foundation pants and get out in the garage or on my property and work. Next Fall/Winter please consider lined foundation pants!

@1620Workwear I dont think ive tried the 2.0 pants but i tried the utility short this last summer and sizes were either way too loose in the waist or way too tight in the hip/seat and thigh. The shorts and pants have the same fit dont they?

Can you guys please put some damn pockets on your work pants? You're basically the only usa made pants with knee pad pockets, but you don't put cargo or utility pockets on the pants. I have a few pairs, and most don't even have a hammer loop. I know that on your 2.0 pants, you have added hammer loops, but i also need pockets, please. Also, not sure if I'm the only one, but the 'watch' pockets that are in your normal hand pockets are so annoying and in the way; every time you put your hand in the regular pocket you get caught on that useless pocket.
