No artist makes me wanna draw more than seeing Eliza's work, and no artist makes me wanna learn how to paint more than seeing Nicolás'. My two favourites.

Delayed add on: I love the part about 'the fear is always there' and the concept of 'hell is performing for a person that you spend everyday with' (also the 'imposter syndrome for having a job'... big time). I grew up in a setting of financial precarity and my passion for art was more or less seen as financial murder-suicide for the family. I wasn't able to pursue my creative drive and instead ended up in a 'serious' career in academia... The Performing-as-Someone-I'm-Not burnt me out so bad and forced me to finally reevaluate my career choices and pursue art. It was exactly as you guys describe it. It was a journey to finally accept that this is so important to me that I would put everything on the line for it. That was closely followed by the realisation that it isn't failure that's the scariest thing, but the self-betrayal of not trusting myself enough to put everything on the line for the truest part of myself. In the end, it came down to recognising that fear isn't a symptom of impending failure, but actually more similar to the feeling you get when you're going down a hill on your bike. It's motion, emotion, and sincerity. Rachel said it best, but it bears repeating: you guys have shared and revealed an absolute treasure trove of experience and wisdom.

Awesome interview. I only recently discovered Eleeza and-not to be dramatic-she's the artist I've been looking for my entire life. Her art has resonates on so many levels; it's got such emotional depth and elegance of choice/execution. Glad to have discovered Nico too today! As a guaranteed backer, I really want that video. so I can stare at it while I wait for the book. 🌈 Big props from a fellow expat bulgarian.

Why do interviewers invite great guests and the interviewer only talks about himself?
