Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. returned as Governor of California on 3 January 2011 exactly 28 years after he left the office on the first time and he left the office the second time on 7 January 2019.

Jerry Brown did not move CA left. He was a fiscal conservative and environmentalist his whole career as a politician. He improved CA each time he was governor and acted as a bulwark against the more progressive-left state legislature.

He didn't move California to the left, he balanced the budget. Blame his idiot successor Newsom instead. He somehow forgot that strangling California businesses, the sunset of Brown's tax increases and pushing Californians away reduces your tax revenue and now California is in another budget crisis (2023 deficit of 68 Billion dollars).
