(2014) When I reviewed the raw footage of my improvised filming, it seemed to me unworthy of preparing for publication because it seemed overweighed with my observations, especially in matters seemingly of interest to no one but Lynn and I. A strange video mainly dominated by Norman. Lynn Seymour, although living in a home full of memories, did not come across quite as one would anticipate. Having followed the history of 'The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo'. The artiste's there that began in the infant years of the company, from Markova/Dolin, remained quite close and either performed character roles into their 80s and 90s, like Franklin and Plattoff, or opened ballet schools. Their lives and senior years revolved around ballet as the axis. When asked why? The reply was cheekily "What else would I do?" I wholeheartedly agree regarding making film archive and always have. It is a remarkable tool for younger up and coming generations and can say and show more than any number of descriptions or words ever could. Thank goodness for the brave pirates of the past for capturing their golden gems. Life is to short to worry about copyright (In a private collection). We will all be gone one day, then nobody can sue us, and the footage will be to valuable a legacy to destroy.

My Mother's first cousin. She danced the Gala at the 1978 Commonwealth games in Edmonton, AB. I was 12....... It is amazing to see recent video and to marvel at how much she is the spitting image of my Great-aunt Margorie, who we called Cug.....thank you for posting this!!

I knew Lynn's Mom Marjorie Springbett as well. I was not aware of the 1978 Commonwealth Games. At the time I was living in England where I saw Lynn on stage whenever she appeared, although I did not begin to know her until after I returned to Vancouver in 18981. So happy to read your comment, John, and I will relay it to Lynn who I'm sure will be delighted.

Loved this interview because of its digressions. P.s. madam legat ended up ina early victoriana mansion I Tunbridge Wells I knew one of her ballerinas at the time. I was 9 years old at the time I believe ballet Rambert had its roots in madam Legats ballet school

You were correct originally. You talk far too too much...and interrupt. We would have really appreciated hearing her feelings and memories and experiences and opinions far, far more. Alas, you are not as well known as her as an artist.....so the end result is.....frustrating and rather unsatisfying, alas.....
