ON THE PISS😂 You might have to translate that for the overseas viewers. This bracket is a ripper. You could use it for anything. What a great idea. Simple but affective. Thanks Matt. Keep up the good work 👏👏👏

Hey Matt, are all your friends called Matt? Is that some kind of Mattism? LOL. That's a great idea for fire extinguisher mount. I have a particular fondness of the plastic mounts that go hard and brittle in the vehicle and invariable drop their load under the mildest of stresses...there is also the rolling around on the floor mount that can be a lethal projectile during an accident or causes an accident by wedging under the brake pedal lever. Again, this is an excellent idea.

Good idea,I'm sure many of us have seen fires overwhelm vehicles that haven't got fire extinguishers, for me my extinguisher is a bit big to do that but saying that its a good idea for a me to get smaller extinguisher to save using the main one. lf l knock the fire out with the small extinguisher l wont have the cost of buying the main extinguisher.

I'm going to chuck in my 2 cents worth. As an ex fire equipment serviceman and fire equipment trainer both Aus and NZ. I agree that the push in extinguisher brackets have limited holding power, and as a 1kg dry powder extinguisher can have a mass weight of up to 2kg, it doesn't take a lot of bouncing or abuse to knock them out. The better quality extinguisher brands have stainless clips which hold very well, and there are excellent after market clip brackets sold by all the major Aus & NZ extinguisher companies. As much as I've seen brackets fail I see the actual mountings fail more. So with mounting, a lot of thought needs to go into this. Accessibility and strong mounting are paramount. I'll point out something too. ASNZ standards require the extinguisher user instructions and extinguisher type to be legible, as I noted with this permanently fixed brackets on your extinguisher it covered the user instructions. Pedantic I know. But it is surprising how many people read these instructions as they're about to use the extinguisher in an emergency. As often the case, someone unrelated to you or your vehicle is required to assist, that is why instructions are large, simple and legible. Training and familiarity in various extinguisher use is something I strongly advocate too. An emergency is not the time to find you're not sure how to use it. With a 1kg ABE dry powder you'll get about 8 sec of knockdown, so you need every second with these small extinguishers.

Thanks so much for that comment. I hadn't considered the issue of covering the logo. I'll certainly take it on board when I fit my extinguisher. I have used them a number of times so being familiar with their use I didn't consider their use by those less familiar. What I have learned is these extinguishers are only good if you get the fire when it's really small and before it can reignite.

@@MadMatt4WD You're right about getting the fire early Matt. Which is pretty much the whole idea of an extinguisher. Sometimes all that stands between a little fire and a massive blaze is that little extinguisher. I love your easy to follow style mate. That's why I subscribed.

@@Matthew_Australia I guess my point is that I'm sure you have posers or wannabes just as we do here. They are the buy and install folks, no fabricating. Now you have this unit that requires more they are willing to deal with. Lost sales. And to the point you make, many folks that actually use their vehicles and thus have the ability to set this bit up also then have the means to make it or similar themselves thus saving themselves some coin. Why buy to then have to do more assembly when they are fully capable as you point out, to be able to just do it themselves. Just my thoughts.
