Pathfinder week is becoming my favorite thing

Nice. As soon as Luke did that in the game, I wondered if that concept would be turned into a video.
@TheRobversion1 Жыл бұрын
This concept is what i made for my 1st pf2e character that i shared in your ranger vid. making a ranged CRB-only gish (ranger with sorc dedication) using bows with hunted shot for the 1st action (no map, -5), animal companion attack (no map) and a 2 action spell (no map) like electric arc initially then eventually upgrading to lightning bolts and chain lightning.

Personally anyway, i prefer cloistered cleric w/ champ archetype over warpriest. Get full casting progression (important for offensive spells), champ takes care of your armor proficiencies and the reaction is nice as always. Also cleric is probably the one class that already has the stat prereqs naturally. I will admit lvl 1 sucks though.

Cast Down is the finishing touch that takes Harm builds from solid to awesome, too.

Oodles of fun ways to get a pretty decent gish. I think one I found pretty fun is having a Precision Ranger dip into Magus for that Electric Arc or Spellstrike. You’re mainly doing big pops once per round anyways. Not S tier, but I’ve had fun. Like, using a halberd or greatsword as a melee ranger can just kinda feel awesome. Also not ideal but funny and not talked about enough, I think Precision also works for spell attacks? Which can be funny with Ray of Frost.

Finally someone is looking at the real strength of the war priest as a gish. I personally dog it most as a way to have good defense on a your healer because of the reduced spell proficiency but you do you.

i think that approaching pathfinder with DPR is the wrong approach imho. its alot better to build a character as for what you can do for the next person. because that chain of everyone taking that approach makes the game run better and easier for the players. i.e demoralising for -1 or 2 to the ac to set up the next person for a possible crit. or using an ability that gives a global flat footed so that the rogue in the group gets their sneak. etc etc. if builds for pf2 were shifted away from dpr to how much utility for the next person would be a more valid way to present builds in pathfinder due to everything being more or less balanced.

Teamwork is more important than dpr generally yes. Might help to put a team utility section to include what you provide for your party members as well

I am ok with warpriest weapons not scaling as well, because giving channel smite to a class with normally scaling martial weapons would be a mistake.

Is Warpriest in the core rulebook now? That's a Hybrid class. Is this some 2e thing or did they add hybrid classes, definitely wasn't in there last time I played Pathfinder.
@DnDDeepDive Жыл бұрын
It’s always been in the 2e core rulebook I think? one of two subclass options.
@1979ce Жыл бұрын
Pathfinder is figured out. It's not as open as dnd. It's easier and more obvious to find the optimal. That's why people quit it. Once it's solved its boring.
@Axel-zc6xj Жыл бұрын
Honestly the pathfinder vids are kind of a no-go for me... I just don't have the time or money to pick up another system. I really hate the nonsense WotC is pulling, but if I am going into pathfinder, it will have to be because I dropped DnD completely. Maybe it's copium, but I am holding onto DnD a little bit longer. The racist nonsense Jeremy Crawford pulled recently certainly didn't help though.
@JD-wu5pf Жыл бұрын
Extreme copium. All of the rules and resources for pathfinder 2e are available for free online. And switching from one gaming system to another is time neutral, since you wouldn't be adding a new game in, you'd be replacing an existing one. I don't even know what you're talking about with Jeremy Crawford, but if you're sick of WoTC then you should stop supporting their flagship product.
