A distinctive Commonwealth War Graves cemetery created as a final resting place for men who died in the battles around Arras in 1917. The cemetery itself was witness to fighting at the start of the Second World War when the German Blitzkrieg swept across Northern France. The cemtisetery entrance and the stone of remembrance are both pock-marked with shells as Rommel's tanks fought off a British counter attack.
