Dr. Gitig is an attending cardiologist at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, specializing in disease prevention. He integrates lifestyle techniques with pharmacologic treatment and uses intensive testing of arterial health to personalize treatment for each patient. Strategies used include nutritional therapies, exercise counseling, mind-body approaches for stress management, and sleep optimization.
Dr. Gitig trained in internal medicine at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell, and completed fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Montefiore Medical Center. He has been practicing since 2007, and is passionate about helping healthy people avoid disease, and ensuring those with disease avoid repeat manifestations of their illness. He sees patients in both his Yonkers and Scarsdale offices and lives with his wife and three children in Westchester County. He is the Director of Cardiology for Mount Sinai Doctors Westchester and serves as Medical Director for the Mount Sinai Health Network Heart Failure Alliance.
