To be fair, mates being treated as super duper rare in this setting threw me for a loop because it was depicted as something all Fey and some members of other species have (but are sometimes too stupid to notice) have in "Throne of Glass" where the concept is otherwise exactly the same. Since in that series only one member of the pair is required to be Fey/demi-Fey (the Fey in that series don't have any sort of "no interacting with humans or other species" policy, so there's a lot of hybrids wandering around) and the other can be a human, witch (which are also a species in that one,) shape-shifter (another species,) god, demon-thing I forgot the name of, or another Fey/demi-Fey, I just assumed that what's PROBABLY happening in "Court of Thorns and Roses" is that a lot of Fey probably have human mates and just don't know about because they don't interact with humans and aren't psychic like Rhys. This is strictly my theory based on the other series, and has not been confirmed as of the end of book four, and I cannot be convinced to read more of the series because I am sex-repulsed, volumes 1-4 melted my brain even though I skim-read and skipped pages through the worst of it, and only forced myself through it because I was invested in finding out what happened with the kingdom of Hyper-Burn (or whatever it's called) and did actually like a lot of the supporting cast...

Getting to it i thought "well let me just skip a few pages- nope, okay a few more" rinse and repeat like 6 times. And like the biting, why is there SO MUCH sexually charged biting?!?!

There were parts of the 5th book where I skimmed forward in shocked disbelief of "They're fucking again??? don't they have a war to prep for???" There's WAY better fantasy books out there to read than these that aren't so sex-filled (and better plot/writing). Check out T. Kingfisher's books, Rebecca Ross, Naomi Novik, Holly Black, and Angela Slatter

Also, maybe you already know, but Throne of glass, A court of thorns and roses and crescent city are all in the same multiverse. In crescent city there is even some characters traveling in to the world of ACOTAR after ACOSF has ended, ...and in the last throne of glass book, the main character falls through worlds and sees both crescent city and Feyra and Rhys from book 5. ;)

That would be amazing. ACOTAR is entertaining trash but fourth wing is straight up horrible trash lol The series would be so entertaining. The protagonist is a complete Mary Sue way more than Feyre is and 90% of the plot is clearly copied. ... which means you would probably need 4 videos just take show from where exactly what was copied. Dragon School, Eragon, Red Queen, Game of Thrones, Divergent and ACOTAR are very obvious but if you do some digging you find so many more things she copied. Like some sentences were literally copied word for word from The Hunger Games and Harry Potter. I can't wait to see a whole map of all the lot she copied from other books.

I dropped this book like halfway through and am SO pleased to hear it got even stupider. Tamlin's character assassination (wait, Feyre would be a Bad Girl if she just left her partner! better make him cartoonishly evil out of nowhere, and also, fuck any pity for his own trauma! He's the Evil Ex now, so she can be safely stolen away and remain a Good Girl!) and also Feyre's two modes being "the most obnoxiously difficult person to ever exist" and "Bioware loredump vehicle" just got too much for my embittered heart.
