My blanket made it from China to Sydney in Australia on the 28 Nov but has now dropped off the tracking in the Apple wallet app so I have no idea where it is. Not on my doorstep nor is there a card. It’s a Saturday 30th so maybe it will come on a week day 🤞

Living in a van and connecting with nature sounds incredible! I noticed you mentioned fishing, and I wanted to share a perspective that might resonate with you. It’s inspiring to see people deeply connected to nature fostering awareness about how we can reduce harm and care for all living beings, including animals. Acts of kindness and compassion can create such a meaningful impact! Wishing you all the best on your journey.
@EdCook-f4q9 күн бұрын
Don't know how functional it is but the interior of the van is beautiful and so appropriate for Alaska. Knotty pine. We took a cruise out of Whittier and didn't have any time to explore but loved the look and a cruise ship sitting in that setting was surreal. Very low-key departure which made it peaceful. The cruise out of the bay was one of the most peaceful activities I have experienced. One does not picture a cruise ship being peaceful, but it was magical standing on the stern and watching the water and snow-covered mountains glide away. Something we did learn in Whittier. The Army had many things going on, some secret and loved the area. it is overcast almost all of the time, and nothing could be seen or photographed from the air. In other words, if the enemy or spys somehow got over it, saw nothing. If you want cold, check on the temps there throughout the year. among the coldest in the state on a regular basis.

Hey Nikki! next time your in Alaska, Visit the little town of Seward. You'll love it, there is a sea life center, many great places to eat, a waterfall on the outskirts of town, and definitely take the "seward ocean Excursion" its a year round boat tour company that takes you out the bay where youll see otters, birds, maybe even whales, and amazing views of the landscapes!

I’ve driven down the spit when it was raining “rocks” yep real rocks being thrown up on the road by a storm surge. It’s a real thing, so many rocks that the city uses a grader to remove them from the road.

Losing your wallet is the absolute worst. Losing your wallet while traveling..in Alaska..is the ultimate worst. I am so sorry. Having a Fanny pack or small over the shoulder leather bag helps my ADHD mind keep essential things like keys, phone and wallet in the same place. Just enough space for these items..otherwise I would fill it with other junk and it would be a mess. Also, I just leaned about the Golden Eagle. What an amazing thing to whiteness. Thank you N!

Homer is my favorite place in Alaska. Wild Honey Bistro and Two Sisters Bakery are great for breakfast. The Kannery is delicious for dinner and drinks. And there's also Sweetgale Meadery and Bear Creek Winery. I love staying at the Lands End Hotel on the spit in the winter. It's beautiful and relaxing. The spit is busy in summer but you're definitely in Alaska in late September and that's why everything is closed. There's great hiking across the bay in Kachemak Bay State Park. And if you want to be spendy and relax, I highly recommend Between Beaches lodging in Seldovia. It's beautiful for relaxing.

Also, Makos water taxi is a nice ride to seldovia, where i still have a house, but they only go to Jakalof Bay and then you have to secure a ride into seldovia, which is 10 miles away. If you have them take you straight into seldovia, it an extra fee. And when the sea is rough, the ride aint for the faint of heart.
