I knew Asmon was a ginger cat before I ever saw him. Orange tabbies are my absolute favorite cats but they are known for not always being terribly bright. 😂 The saying of the online orange cat community is "all orange cats share 1 brain cell" - there's an actual Facebook group with that name. That said, I'm so glad the big dummy is ok! He's adorable. 😍

Your story sounds nearly identical to my old cat Bear that my mom and I adopted when I was 10! He was also around the same age as your brother's cat when we first got him and he was a stray for his whole life before we adopted him. Because of this, he was an escape artist and we had to watch all the doors all the time because of him. There would be some nights where he would get out but would always turn up the next morning at our back patio door. Thankfully, cats have a MUCH better sense of direction than dogs do. So glad the story had a happy ending and that's he's okay!!!!!
