Making the picks was interesting, but taking apart a battery doesn't seem like the safest idea. You could use a soda can. If you have a key for that much time you can get one made at the hardware store for $2. We even have machines in some of the grocery stores that will make them.

1st part - Those Chinese locks can be picked with far less effort and time by an 8 year old. Let us see you do it to a real padlock. 2nd part - Rather than take all that time and effort, use a soda can. The aluminum works just as good. 3rd part - That made no sense. If you already have a key, why would you need to take forever to make a shitty duplicate? Most Chinese locks similar to the one you used can be opened by other keys from the same type lock.
