I praise & thank God for you Father Mike. The Church has for so too long raised "lukewarm" Catholics & is most definitely the reason everyone's leaving; I know because I was one of them. I left for 20 years, attended a Pentecostal Church, but felt the Lord calling me home & returned 10 years ago. I've been tempted again to leave, because the Church is still preaching "what itchy ears want to hear" thinking this will keep people, they're wrong. I live in Upstate NY & found you during the shutdown, along with several other Priests on fire for preaching Truth. I will continue to pray that more strong men are called to be Priests and the corrupt Priests be weeded out. These are people's souls at stake. Thank you again for being a real Shepherd.

Father Michael is right. I was raised Catholic from birth. I have memories of going to church, of attending catholic school for 6 years, of going to mass every weekend. I remember my grandmother, who lived with us, watching mass every day without fail and praying the rosary. I remember after going to mass her praying hours later, quietly by herself, and at the time being young and not so smart I was thinking "Why? We just went to mass and she's setting another hour aside for God?". I too was a lukewarm Catholic. And honestly, I didn't take my faith to the next level and become more devout, more spiritual, more thankful and closer to God until recently. I am ashamed to admit it. I thought I was being committed to God, but in reality I was going thru the motions. The disintegration of society, morals and values we've been experiencing in America has never been a bigger threat to a decent, free society. Dismembering babies with steel clamps seems to be accepted now. Even "Catholic" politicians like Biden are actively supporting abortion wrongly, as a woman's right to choose. She had the right to choose, and she chose to have a baby. Taking a pill or going to Planned Parenthood just because you made bad decisions is wrong. God has been so sadly omitted from schools, athletics, and the home. The nuclear family structure and the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country is under attack. We need to stand even firmer in our beliefs and with God. And vote smarter before it's too late. God Bless.

Martina, if that's the truth, break with any family or tradition and get out of that "wolf in sheep's clothing" of a Church. Please do it now! Pray for God's leadership and guidance and He will guide you to a place that preaches the Truth. Take your time in choosing where to go. Learn about the leaders and the churches you visit before making a decision to join that fellowship. It is more important to be a Christian than a Baptist, Catholic, Episcopalian, etc..Go where THE BIBLE is the source of preaching, where you are instructed and encouraged to READ AND STUDY the Bible DAILY and to pray prayers from your HEART(not written, scripted prayers from the church) TO God, thru his Son, Jesus Christ. God bless you for being in a false church. Please ! Run from there and quick! Flee from those trying to destroy you Spiritually .

Unfortunately, I attend a very lukewarm parish. Our priest delivers homilies that are completely void of anything spiritual. While commenting on Paul's preaching against sexual immorality, which was contained in the reading, our priest managed to talk about environmental justice, global warming, and the protection of ecosystems. In other homilies, he will spend the entire time giving a history lesson about the historical context in which the reading came from and will not offer any insight about how the reading is relevant to us as Christians. As an OCIA student, I am tempted to go back to my Baptist church. However, it is exciting to know that I can get good, solid Catholic preaching from KZbin channels such as this one.

I was raised to be a lukewarm secular 'Catholic'... and the fruits of that was: depression, anxiety, lonliness, rage, resentment, addiction, selfishness, pride, greed, etc....... if not for the mercy of God, had he not woken me up; if I had died back then............ I would've been lost............. I would kiss the feet of Jesus if he'd let me. No one else helped me, it was Jesus himself who gave me the suffering and grace to wake up and realize how horrible my life was because I wasn't focused on him.

Same! I would go to retreats and experience God’s great love but then would go back home and continue to live in sin. I wasn’t willing to let go of myself. I wanted the good feeling of having God by my side but I didn’t want to make sacrifices much less obey Him. It’s no wonder I thought religion doesn’t work for people like me, when in reality I was simply lukewarm. It took me hitting rock bottom, getting kicked out my house and seeing just how meaningless my life had become for me to say: “I don’t want this life, I am tired of doing things my way”. Instantly my depression, my panic attacks, suicidal ideation, stomach issues were all healed. I continued to fast which helped me to break free of the strongholds on my life. I prayed asking the Lord for discernment to cure me of my worldly addiction so that I can finally learn to love Him with all my heart, my soul, my mind, and all my strength. 🙏🏼✝️❤️

o Ephesians 6:11-13 NKJV 11 Put on the whole Armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole Armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. o Ephesians 6:11-13 NIV 11 Put on the full Armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full Armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. --------------------------- o Matthew 10:33 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. NKJV 33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven. (KJV). 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. (NIV). 33 But those who reject me publicly, I will reject before my Father in heaven. (GNT). 33 But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (NKJV) o 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 GNT 9 Surely you know that the wicked will not possess God's Kingdom. Do not fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or homosexual perverts 10 or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves-none of these will possess God's Kingdom. 11 Some of you were like that. But you have been purified from sin; you have been dedicated to God; you have been put right with God by the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NIV) o Ecclesiastes 7:2 o 2 Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart. (NIV) o 2 Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies- so the living should take this to heart. (NLT) o 2 It is better to go to a home where there is mourning than to one where there is a party, because the living should always remind themselves that death is waiting for us all. (Good News Translation) o James 3:6 o 3 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (NIV) o 3 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (NLT) o 3 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (wickedness). The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. (NKJV) o 3 And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself. (GNT)
