Brenan is a pro at short term campaigns, Dimension 20 his usual D&D show is normally made of campaigns of a dozen episodes of less then 2 hours, but he is able to make the audience and the players able to really feel inside the story

Thank you for this recap! I've been told to watch this particular mini series by my peers for a while now. When I first got into it, I had to say I was getting lost in a lot of the lore and people coming into it. It's definitely dense for me, at least. Your recap helped me to grasp things a little better. Now I feel I can move on to episode 2 now, understanding the characters and their motivations more!

I was very much not concerned with this mini campaign since I’ve been watching dimension 20 for years now. The way Brennan DM’s games is something that is super cool to witness and every game he’s DMed has always been entertaining. You can just feel the love he has for this game every time he has the chance to show it, it’s incredible. Putting him with the cast for this game makes it impossible for this to be not good, and I can’t wait for the next episode.

I can't believe you didn't mention Sam and Aabria's characters being exes, that scene was hilarious!

I think that was my favorite part of the episode 🤣 There’s just so much to cover!

Well, maybe one little mention at 4:00 **laughs** But it was worthy of a bigger mention given how they're all likely to end up.

Brennan runs a 6 ep campaign that Mercer plays in. The whole thing is free on YT and is called Escape from the Blood keep. It's hilarious w/ Erika Iishi. And Matt's usual PC bad luck rolls is front and center.

slight correction: I believe Aabria's PC's last name is "Coramar-Seelie". Her _title_ includes Hierophant Abjura of the College of Abjuration, which I think is Avalir's version of a wizard doctorate for a specific school of magic.

You’re a hundred percent correct! I misheard sadly, there goes my theory 😂

the most recent "NPC" one-shot DMed by Sam was almost a warm up for his character in Calamity. Sam dressed VERY similarly to how he describes Loquacious and to Caesar in Hunger Games. And it's great to see Sam back as a bard, although he has also multiclassed as a warlock

I believe Garyon is supposed to be an artificer like his main story counterpart, Taryon Darrington. Other than that, the background as a big media personality, is pretty similar.
@rantdmc2 жыл бұрын
@@romxxii well that's possible but since Garyon didn't act or cast a spell in the game, it's hard to tell if he had a character class

I feel like Loquacious is just Sam in Full Ad mode all the time. He's ascended to his true form.

@@Rayne_Storms couldn't agree more! Sam attaining his final form! and I think Marisha has always had a hyper-glamorous elven wizard inside her too. I think Travis has always wanted to roll 30+ on ability checks as well

My one weird connection is Laerryn and the trying to adjust leylines mentioned and the name Planerider Ryn who is not an elf, but a tiefling from campaign 2, also interested in ley lines. I hope this means Learryn survives to birth that bloodline...and that's where she gets her name.

if you have not seen matt's telling of the history then there is more mystery so spoiler warning. in the video he explains that after the Ravenqueen takes her eplace it inspires other wizards to think bigger one of which instead of challanging a god for their position opens the realm to the betreyer gods, one of whome I am assuming was seen in the dream at the beginning.

I want to know where this continent is I haven't heard its name b4. I am wondering if it's just one we haven't seen b4 or is it one that gets destroyed in the Calamity? Thoughts?

Strange to me was that you stressed character's skin complexity. Every one of them. I am from Europe and, believe me, we never find that of any importance when we describe a person. for Zerxes, I will say, for example, long beard and golden eyes. I think you in America need to stop looking at skin color as something important, because it really isn’t.
@dimitrisdimitriadis4913 Жыл бұрын
1) she mentioned it, she didn't stress it. She's not fetishising any skin color, she's just naming it and moving on. 2) I am also from Europe. While I agree with the overall point you're making, specifically within voice/sound based roleplaying, a quick visual reference helps me picture the character. Mentioning that someone's skin is X color is as important as mentioning their clothes are Y color. Their skin color doesn't inform me of what they will behave like, but it does help tremendously with immersion. Yes, we shouldn't focus on color, but we shouldn't pretend we don't see it either.
