Played an hour yesterday. I can't believe I'm saying this but Silent Hill 2make has the POTENTIAL to be better than the OG. Certainly the first hour was. I saw some people say the game is "padded" but I much, much prefer the slow burn horror and expanded town. The sound design is the best part - the music grinds down your sanity bit by bit and there appear to be hundreds of triggers for small sound effects like chains rattling, moans, wind, animals, etc.

@@gunnerchel there are sound effects that get triggered depending on your "good" and "bad" karma actions. like healing yourself or looking at the corpses and letters james left behind from the OG game

To be honest, if there are people that think the remake is better than the OG, then that would be completely 10000% valid. I don't know why there's a whole stigma around thinking that a remake is better than what simply came before it. The remake is truly a masterpiece and a great reimagining of the original.

Does anyone think about what your personal Silent Hill experience would be like if you were called to the town?
@raistlin34627 күн бұрын
Well, I like to believe most of us don't have enough darkness to draw the Town's attention. Meaning no monsters or trips to the Underworld.

How are you enjoying the remake? So far I've only seen roughly the first 30 minutes, but it looks fantastic, contrary to my expectations.
@DaRkPlUm2 ай бұрын
I've just reached Woodside Apartments, having played about 90 mins of it after work yesterday. It's much scarier than I thought it would be, having played the original twice through. The over-shoulder perspective combined with the radio static trickery and tight level layouts are proving to make it quite a hair raising experience.
@mattblom39902 ай бұрын
It's really good through an hour. It "feels right". Like they somehow nailed the feeling of a 23 year old game with a very specific culture to it and updated and expanded it for 2024. Only an hour, but it's hooked me. I like the new James voice actor too and Angela isn't bad either despite her still-puffy cheeks.

I am a piece of sh1t. I feel like the weight of everything I’ve done is crushing me. I’ve hit, hurt, stolen, and lied just to wriggle my way out of trouble. I’ve degraded people, turned them into something they never wanted to be, and never thought about the consequences. I took what I wanted and destroyed everything others had worked so hard to build. Now I’m standing here, surrounded by the wreckage, knowing full well that I’m the one who broke it all. I wonder if I’ll ever stop hating myself. Can I even still be human after everything I’ve done? How can someone like me-someone who has sunk so low-ever become good again? I’ve destroyed lives, not just those of others, but my own as well. I’ve used people, abused them, taken everything they had, and then acted like it was their fault. But I know it was always on me. I was the one who made those choices. I was so trapped in my own power trip that I didn’t even hear their screams. I keep seeing the faces of those I’ve hurt. Some of them are no longer here. They don’t scream anymore, they don’t run anymore-they’re just stuck in my head. And I wonder if they could ever forgive me. Or if what I’ve done runs so deep that not even time could change it. It feels like I’ll never find peace again. And maybe I don’t deserve to. Sometimes I wonder why I even try to change. Why I keep tormenting myself. Maybe it’s already too late. Maybe there’s no forgiveness for what I’ve done. Maybe this is just who I am-someone who dragged himself into the abyss and took others down with him. I can’t heal the wounds I’ve inflicted. I can’t undo the damage I’ve caused. And yet I still ask myself: Is there a way back? Can I save myself? But maybe it really is too late. And if I just stay the way I am, keep living like this, stop letting myself feel like I used to, won’t it only get worse in the end?
@whitedaemon146327 күн бұрын
Dont worry, you can be better. You need socialisation, because lonely is hurting you. If you ask for forgiveness from the people you hurt, nothing bad is happening. Best way - telling the truth to himself, what happened is not liked you, and you understanding it. You need friends, need who you cares about, need someone, who you love. Its need for your mental health, its make you more happiness.
