@@gene9597 idk the reason WHY, but the way it works is 2-3 bots join a lobby, full blown spinbot, and if you try to kick them the bot autos to "no", so usually its impossible to kick bots. And if you do, theres such a high percentage of bots that they just rejoin a couple minutes later.

@@gene9597 tf2 is overran by bot players that spam chat and voice, aimbot, purposefully lag the game, and vote kick brigade players. Valve hasn't helped at all because they don't give a shit about tf2 anymore.

@@gene9597 A couple years ago some people started making spinbots that mass join tf2 matches. Normally they also spam in the chat & have weird names, etc. The purpose of the bots, as far as anyone can tell, is just to annoy people. The bots themselves are easy to identify (and normally are votekicked very quickly). But they mass join servers. Valve anti cheat isn't very good at detecting bots as it turns out and so it's a big problem (it was bigger a couple years ago, but it's still persistent). I play on EU servers and i'd say about every 2 games at least one bot joins over the course of it. (Some maps are worse but i only play payload). The Bot normally gets 2 or 3 kills before it's kicked. It's annoying but it's not as catastrophic as it could be because of the nature of tf2 pubs (very casual 12v12, can leave and join any match, lots of lobbies, no ranking system). The bots certainly do inflate tf2's current player numbers but i would be surprised if it was anything above 10% of players being bots at peak (15k / 150k), especially considering these bot accounts are automatically created. The number of bots seems to be decreasing though. The game is still very fun and it doesn't ruin the experience since it normally equates to dying once to a bot in a 12v12 game where you respawn quite quickly.
