My husband and I are snowbirds from ND. One of our favorite birds up north is the brown thrasher. What a pleasant surprise to find the Curve-Billed Thrasher here in AZ!!

Thanks for the video. I started hearing this song a couple weeks ago and couldn't figure out who was singing it. Then I saw the C B Thrasher at the bird feeder this morning, looked it up and the book said this is their courtship song. I'm in Santa Fe NM and they breed every year in a group of tall cholla up behind my garden - and that's the area the song was coming from.

There are two that live in my 7 foot high cholla and other large cacti..right beside my bedroom window. I give them a cookie everyday for their songs.

These Thrashers are such a joy to have visiting my yard every day. I've seen them display such hostility to all of the other visitors of the bird seed platform before watching the same bird sing this peaceful song hours later. They are so funny.

I just saved one from a cat attack several hours ago. I wish rehab centers in my area were more helpful. I'll be rehabilitating him myself. Wish me luck.

Hermoso"! Ojalá y siempre sean libres, ellos no nacieron para estar encerrados, Dios bendiga a la gente que los respeta y no los caza o los priva de su libertad"

Muy cierto deben de estar libres, y no deben de quemarse los bosques. Ellos sufren.

Looks like a Bendire's Thrasher - bottom bill is straight.
