Great video, I visited the battery in August....but in much better weather. My uncle was a Mosquito pilot with 605 sqn, on 6th June his and two other aircraft were tasked to attack the AA guns and searchlights at the Battery....he dropped his first bomb at 0011 hrs on the 6th June..later stating it was the first bomb of the 2nd Front....and then goes on to describe his aircraft getting hit, and the Lancs going in to "plaster" the area, then the Glider train going in, he also saw signs of gliders landing. They left the area at 0040hrs....I only quite recently got his logbooks back to the family after being away from us since 1971....:)

Thanks, Rob. Another great one (and your jacket is getting a good test of its waterproof rating!). I've driven by Merville twice now on my way to Juno and Sword. It was a difficult objective and those who fought there need to be remembered.

Hi, Rob, how are you? Wow, that is very chaotic with communications issues and landing far away. It takes a lot of courage and strength to deal with that and keep going on a dangerous, high-stakes, and crucial mission. Wonderful shot of the C-47. The hangar is intriguing. Makes sense that you went before the DDay anniversary. The odds were stacked against them and it's great how they succeded with only 150 (out of 700) men. I can't imagine the intensity of the fighting. Nice shots of the bunkers. They are well maintained. I can't imagine the sound in the bunkers. Wow, I did not expect an exhibit of a German medic treating a British soldier. Great info about the casemates. It was awesome seeing the view while you were at Casemate #2. The tunnel was cool to see. I did not expect to see a roadway. Good video. Take care :]
