i feel like korean is way easier to learn that japanese but japanese is also one of the easier asian languages you can learn. In my opinion after studying japanese for three years, Katakana and Hiragana are the easiest to learn. Kanji is a bit more difficult. But you can definitely learn fast if you really wanted to because it's not like chinese. My friend studied mandarin for three years and i saw how difficut it was. I could never

As someone who is studying Japanese rn yes it is difficult there are 2 main alphabets ( hiragana and katakana) and then the borrowed chinese characters ( kanji) and the sentence structure is way different than English but as long as you put in the effort it becomes easir and starts to make sense.

japanese has hirigana and katakana which are easy to learn but then kanji is instead of learning like the individual "letters" making up a word, each symbol corresponds to an entire word. kanji tends to be where people have the most trouble. english spelling bees are to japanese guess the kanji gameshows

4:52 about japanese, the language is pretty hard to learn/read i’d say😭😭 it has 3 different writing systems (katakana, hiragana and kanji) and they are all used consecutively in japanese writing. katakana and hiragana are relatively okay to learn since they’re alphabets, but kanji uses a character writing system like chinese which………good luck. even writing systems aside, learning it involves a lot of integration with culture because there are lots of honorifics, sayings and etiquette etc. 😭 i can read hiragana but that’s all, so personally it seems prettyttyyyyy hard yeahhh!

Nah... leeknow couldn't read Chinese letters(Japanese writing consists of two type of Japanese letters and Chinese letters) Korean use a lot of words made of chinese letters too, but we write it with korean letters. So lots of korean can't read or write chinese letters.

I’d say Japanese isn’t hard if you learnt it the right way, I picked up a lot in one year during school, I can read hiragana and speak the basics and extra sentences. Japanese doesn’t have 3 alphabets, just 3 scripts. Hiragana is the traditional one made for the Japanese language. Katakana is made for English phrases like carrot, or pink. Kanji is Japanese but in Chinese script. I hope this helps :D

"they have three alphabets..?" my dude, they actually have four x'D and it's not uncommon for all of them to be used in the same sentence. They are: Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, and Romaji {the roman alphabet, but they use it frequently too so it's one of their four} HAVE FUN.

I think all languages that don't use the same Alphabet as you are hard in one way or two. Like Japanese has 2 writing Systems Hiranga & Kanji and Kanji is mostly for the natives or those who really took it serious. Korean allegedly writing wise is pretty easy with Hangeul writing but pronounciation is where the Frick is the difference between we wee and weo xD And the rest is written Like it looks good in Gold and is ancient old. To me some words of Thai Sound adorably pronouced and Chinese has Like 500 Version of it's own and not even many natives know all of their writing Versions. I still love learning about them all jzt brain be like 🤯

The one where they cant speak english always makes me feel so bad for felix. Like, of course he was best at it because he's always consciusly choosing to speak korea rather than english so hes most practiced at avoiding english. Meanwhile the rest are korean by default and can freely speak in broken english at will so they never have to be conscious of which language they're speaking because theyre always allowed to use both.
