A Damp & Wet Start to the Day in a Picturesque Cotswolds | English Countryside | 4K

So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Guiting Power which is located within the heart of the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire in the UK. The village sits halfway between Stow-on-the-Wold & Cheltenham. The Post town is Cheltenham.
According to the 2011 census the village then had a population of 296. For a village that is relatively small it has many local amenities which include a village hall, a children's nursery (built in 1872 and first used as a school before closing), a shop, a Post Office, a bakery and also two public houses (the Farmer's Arms and the Hollow Bottom).
The local church is St Michael and all Angels which is situated on the south end of the village and is of a Norman origin dating back as far as the 12th century.
Guiting Power hosts its own music festival each year in the month of July comprising of classical, jazz and folk music.
You will find in this video that there is no sound of rain fall on an umbrella, this is because for this walk I did not use an umbrella, which I thought made for a refreshing change.

And the sound of your shoes isn't as loud and distracting as others, I'm curious on how you do that? I also like how you keep the camera so steady and movement is smooth. The only downside to using binaural mics is that because they are positioned in both ears and where it is so quiet in the early mornings, my breathing tends to get picked up very easily, some might say it adds to the realism but on the other hand some might say it is distracting. Unfortunately I have no background in the film industry (except for dabbling somewhat in VFX and CGI at home). If you saw some of my ‘early days’ videos on this channel they are proper ropey, even now after nearly two years I feel like I am still learning and progressing as I go along. Thanks again. OAAW

First and foremost I do hope you are not hurt, it looks like quite a tumble you took, take care of you!! I believe this may be my "new" favorite walk, where to begin? The rain of course, although it seemed to really come down a few times. I love daisies & what looks to be Queen Annes Lace is beautiful & makes a lovely dye for wool which brings me to the sheep!! I love that sound so much & watching them peacefully graze is a treat. Love all the birds & I think I heard an owl, it was lovely also to hear your voice. The beautiful lanes & buildings & my heart sang more then once looking at those cottages with roses growing around them. This walk seemed to incorporate everything I dream about concerning The Cotswolds...all of your walks do but for me, this was so rich with life beaming around every single beautiful corner!! Another beautiful village. It looks so peaceful and the houses are gorgeous. The surrounding countryside is slowly growing towards its peak of the season. Although it is not really obvious on the video, the ground which I slipped on was quite steep and super muddy, wearing trainers with very little grip did not aid matters. Entre tanta frondosidad y verdor, mi alma se deleita y mis sentidos atentos disfrutan cada segundo del recorrido. No puedo dejar de admirar esas cautivadoras imágenes bordeando el tranquilo cementerio acompañado como siempre de su iglesia. Fue lindo ver a las lanudas ovejas pastando en ese fresco prado y conversando entre ellas en su alegre idioma, jejeje Siguen lluviosos los días, con esa tranquilidad que permite perderse en sueños y darle rienda suelta a la imaginación. Como me gustaría vivir en una de esas preciosas casas, elegir la que más me gusta siempre es difícil, pero disfruto el juego como si fuese una niña. Ya elegí la que me fascina y esta escondida tras los arbustos, justo en el minuto 32:03 esa es mi preferida, jeje🤗 Qué pasó en el los últimos minutos del trayecto, es que acaso usted tuvo una caída? Before commenting on anything, I must ask- are you okay after taking that fall near the end? I certainly hope that you were not injured. You definitely got more of a closeup of the plant life than you had ever anticipated getting. : / I very much enjoyed this lovely walk, with the variety of the scenery, the honing in on the daisies (one of my favorite flowers), the grazing sheep who made their voices heard, and the beautiful village and country scenery. It was also nice to see the war memorial decorated with the poppy wreaths- especially as we approach the anniversary of D-day and the commemorative events that are planned. Thank you for another fine walk; your interesting, lovely content and your excellent filming never disappoint! :)

The footage is quite deceptive as the area where I slipped was steep and muddy, wearing smoothed soled sneakers didn't do me any favours. @@OutandaboutWalking I’m glad to know that you were not badly injured in the fall. It’s very easy to go down- and especially so if the tread on shoes or sneakers is not what it once was. I had a misstep about 3 months ago when playing soccer (of sorts) with my grandsons, out in the yard. Thankfully, only my knee and hand got scraped on the pavement- though my dignity also got a bit of a bruising! I do not have time to read all comments, but I do think it sweet that so many of your viewers immediately asked if you were okay. It must make you feel good to know that people all over the world were concerned for your well-being after they knew that you had a fall. P. S. Don’t worry about delays. Everyone knows that you have a life outside of filming, and nobody would want you to sacrifice needful sleep to give immediate replies. It’s just nice that you do eventually try to reply, as not everyone with a channel is able to do that. It gives a personal touch. :)

It just goes to show what a strong sense of community we have here :). I’m currently away on vacation as of yesterday and was not able to physically reply because of travelling etc…also, I may of said this once before but sometimes I reply based on time zones as I wouldn’t want to disturb someone if they are asleep during nighttime hours. 95% of the videos are automatically scheduled which means it does not matter where I am or what I am doing, the video will still get published at a pre given / scheduled time, which is incredibly handy! However, it may be different for others. (You are 5 hours ahead of Western NY). Yes, your commenters all seem to be nice people! Before I leave any comments on a new channel I discover, I usually scroll a bit to see the general tone of what type of comments people write. If I see evidence of “trolls” or of people having bad manners and attacking others, I don’t even bother to leave a comment- though I will “like” the video if it was good (as it is not the fault of the KZbin host if people say rude things). Happily, that has not been the case with OAAW, as all tend to leave pleasant comments and compliments about the walk, or share nice things from their own lives. This whole walk I kept having these eerrie deja vu chills. Say, didja have a go on the swingset before you clicked the camera on? I've seen those before 🤔. I sure cotton to sheep bleats, they're so darn cute, and each wooly has its own unique voice. Yep, that would make a perfect "white" fluffy noise that'd put me to sleep instantly. Aha! You posed for that portrait of The Cotswold Guy; I just know it by the antlers! Zowee did you see that bird walking vertically up a wall? But there's something off, the deja vu didn't have the jungle feel...quite the flushing blush of greenery, magnificent. Yikes! 😲😱Shocking, just shocking! I called for aid and Dr🩺🚶came🏃, picked up the camera and finished the journey... He looked back, down the path but you🤕 were nowhere. Guess I'd better go findja...least I could do.

I was hoping someone would see the little bird (if it was the same one - the house on the right when entering the lane. Antlers? Although it doesn’t really look like it on camera, that was quite a steep downhill section which was extremely muddy and as I wearing trainers with a smoothish sole it certainly was a recipe for disaster!
