Whoever did the interior design really knows the business. With such an eclectic mix of colors and bold patterns this interior could have really gone off the rails. But it is absolutely stunning, elegant, yet inviting.

It’s a holiday cottage not a permanent home and it totally makes sense to have the layout like this. As mentioned the space with the dining room is MUCH much smaller than the sitting room upstairs which also has a woodburner. It’s absolutely no problem whatsoever when one is staying there for a limited amount of time.

Oh my gosh! I discovered the Wedgewood collection last year and ordered Wild Strawberry for my kitchen. My mother gave me that china for my 16th birthday back in 1976. You can only imagine how thrilled I was to find coordinating wallpaper and fabric. I know that matchy-matchy has been out of favor for decades but I still love it!

My husband and I stayed in this cottage about 15 years ago. They have improved it so much and vastly improved the layout and usage of space. What is now the downstairs master, en suite and laundry was a disused coal shed and the remnants of a servants kitchen and it could only be accessed from outside. It looks a million times better now.
