A Day at Germanys BEST University (TUM - Technical University of Munich)

For the past two years i had been looking for a TUM related content creator who can be helpful for students who want to study there. But i can pretty much say there was none until you posted this video. I will be studying at TUM next year and personally i would appreciate if you can make videos about the first semester, academic student life there and what to expect (I know it is very hard.). @@savage5502 I don't know when I can do a video no that, so I'm gonna give you some information on that right now :D online food/grocery delivery is very convenient and there are many options in Munich. Also there is HelloFresh which delivers full packages of meals that you then can cook on your own. Food in Germany is actually quite cheap (groceries. Going out for dinner not) compared to other European Countries. There are actually many job fairs and also some at University on a regular basis. Insurance: so there is regular and private insurance. Private insurance is better but basically not affordable :D the regular insurance is also very good and most people in Germany have it. It will cover some basic costs but you also have to pay some part of it. Doctor appointments is a bit difficult to say, it depends on what it is. the more specialized the doctor, the longer the waiting times. (and if you have regular insureance you have to wait longer for an appointment than if you have private insurance). Hope this was helpful as a first insight :)

There are many differen student Clubs you can join. Other than that I would say Munich offers a lot. But since the city is so big (compared to other German cities) it is more anonymous (compared to pther German cities) :) but don't worry about it. People hang out everyday in the Parks to have a drink or meet up in Bars, there are plenty of opportunities to go hiking. I would say it is like with every other place. You can have your own time but also a lot of time with friends depending on what you want :)

How study process look? How many students for 1 teacher? Do they help at all or just read you lectures and you study yourself?

Uuuh. Amazing questions! I will do a video on that!!!! So it is different for every cöass there are some classes where there is one Professor for 15 students. In other classes there is one for 250 students. Typically the professor only holds the lectures and the students study on their own... I will make a video on my study process! :)

Hi Gilbert! :) So the thing is in the MMT you only have electives and the amount of students in each class vary from 10-200 students. I would say there are at least 700 students doing the MMT right now. But might be more as well...

In Germany there are some scholarships, like DAAD for example or Germany Scholarship and more. Some of them are not specifically for Bachelor students. However TUM themselves don't have specific scholarships for Bachelor's except for need based, which means you can apply if you don't have enough money to cover tuition fees and living cost

hey. I will do a video on how to find accomodation in munich, but one common way would be to look up (public/private) student dorms in munich. The student union provides some. And also there is "wg-gesucht.de" which is a common way to find shared flats in Germany. It is in German, but it is definately worth trying out, there you can also set the maximum you want to pay. Hey! :) yess all of that is available to internationals! You can apply for scholarships and dorms just as every other student. Work is the only thing that might be a bit more tricky than if you would speak German, but there are still many Jobs that are fine with you only speaking English

Hey Mai! :) I'm originally from Germany. Not everything is taught in english but there are some degrees, that are offered 100% in english. If a course is offered in english, there is no German at all. The Professors and students will speak english and the lecture material is english.

You typically need a B2 :) So I would say it's doable. In some degrees they will also test your language abilities in an interview, but you can look this up on the website of the program that you wanna do.

Well they evaluate whether you are a suitable candidate on your background: Higher maths Physics fundamentals Electric and information technology Control engineering. Depending on how much background you have in these you can do it. But the best option is to look at the website and check how applicants are selected. Then you can evaluate yourself

Hi Daniel! :) Welcome to my Channel. Right now I'm living of my savings, that I saved up before (worked the entire time during my bachelors, had a scholarship, worked one year full time before starting my Masters, and the German Government gives every student with a German nationality some monthly income). You will definately find some part-time jobs in english if you are looking for it. Otherwise you can just apply for any remote job, so don't worry about it. I would definately recommend you to look for scholarships :) If you have any more (detailed) questions just ask :)

Haha the OTH is just a sticker that a student has put up there :D The program is not offered at TUM but at the Hochschule München :) you have to apply for it. It has nothing to do with the M&T :) But I do highly recommend the program :)
