I love to see you are able to stretch out a calf and work him! It doesn't seem like anyone can do it this kind of work anymore. Love seeing it!

Looks like a day of work. No doubt very satisfying. I was shocked to see a jersey trying to be a beef cow. Amazed at how many linebacks you have. I figured you guys would have Herefords or Angus, maybe a few shorthorns or charlois thrown in. Aurora looks like a real cowgirl. Best wishes.

Good morning from a wee bit north of you all in south central BC, thanks so much for the video and the memories it stirred up. Was part of a branding crew for 27 odd years and helped my rancher friend move his cattle in the local mountains during that time as well. We started out cutting and using a fire to using rings and an electric iron by the time we were done. It was always spring calves up here, went from mostly Hereford crosses to Black Angus nowadays. Again thanks for the memories and showing the world that's never seen it how cattle are still handled every day out - out west at least. All the best to you all.

Hi guys. Super video showing part of a cowboy’s (and cowgirl’s) working day. It shows the importance of working as a team and having very well trained horses. The elastic band for castration is really much better for the calves than old west ways (a sharp knife and a hot iron?). Of interest is the fact that Porter carries his revolver in the left grip but uses the rope with the right hand. That prevents the rope inadvertently pulling out the revolver. I wonder why old west working cowboys did not use flap holsters. As always Dad and Wife doing the hard work. God Bless. Happy Trails.

Really nice video- people need to see where their rib eye comes from ! You both know what you’re doing on horseback too ! Music was good- thought maybe you’d play Corb Lund- “Everything is better with some cows around” Thanks for another good one !

Reminds me of my younger days, ranching between Utah and Nevada. A lot of long days, and hard work. But I loved every minute of it

This video really has me second guessing my way of life, living and working on your own land with your family must be so fulfilling. We were all meant to live that way and not be apart of this corporate consumerist slave race. Awesome video guys, keep it up. Next time show off the working guns for a few seconds, even if you have shown them on camera before ;)

Glad you had good weather. Had a cow charge me once. I don't own a horse and I can't run. Nothing came of it. Heard him coming behind me, and turned him around with a yell.

Great video. Reminds me of my youth when we would castrate our calves. We never had more than 2 so it was nothing like having a herd, like you folks, and we never had to lasso them. Dad would just run them in the barn, and I would hold them against the stall, by the neck, when he would clamp them. For some odd reason, they always seemed to dislike that experience. Took a wild ride a time or two.

No matter what don't forget that your worst day at work when nothing goes right and everything is a battle its still better than my best day slowly dying trapped behind a desk in my office. But at least it's not forever just has to be long enough.

Don't see many linebacks, these days. Time was, they were seen a fair bit on smaller family operations

Just worked mine in Alabama a few weeks ago. We use squeeze chutes and usually cut rather than band. The horse work looks more fun! At my farm ,language would definitely need to be edited out😅. Good job!

Man, i wish i could have a job and make a living doing that. I work on school busses and do farming on the side. I dont really make much money at it, but i enjoy doing it. I try to band bulls while there still just a few weeks old. Sneak up while there eating and give them the band.

I remember the sorting and shipping and branding in the spring we had before dad passed away in 1999 a cow calf operation with around 140 head of mother cows and a forest permit I miss it but what happened was family members were greedy and dad didn’t have things in a will and just left everything to the youngest and he run the thing in the ground and took me to court and got my house and shop from me on the place and has perty sold it off and now not much left cows gone property sold and nothing he has to show for it
