It boggles my mind how many amazing attractions in Edinburgh are free of charge. The wife and I were last at the gardens not long before Christmas 2018 and even in the winter they are spectacular. I'm actually surprised that your video wasn't full of cheeky we squirrels given how many there are there :)

Hi Jim, hope you and your family are well. I know, we're very lucky to have so many free things to do around the city. Sometimes I think we take it for granted. You're so right about the squirrels. They're pretty tame too and now you mention it I'm amazed I didn't include one. Thanks again for your support. There's a new video coming out tomorrow. All the best, David

Hi David, I enjoyed youre video of the gardens, it looks a great place !! Despite living in Scotland for over 20 years its one of those places we keep saying that we must visit, hopefully when normality returns we will make the effort and go visit. 👍

Thanks Martyn, I just found it the other day and thought I might as well post it. It's well worth a visit when it reopens. Hope you're having a good weekend. Best wishes, David

This is, I believe so far, the most beautiful Botanical Garden I have seen. For me it was a wonderful experience. I would like to come back one day.

Hi Madalina, yes the Edinburgh Botanics are just wonderful. I've been visiting all my life and I never get tired of visiting. Hope you can visit soon. I believe they are back open to visitors and I hope to go along next week. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes, David :-)

Another brilliant video David. You have a fantastic ‘soft’ Scottish, speaking voice too. I think you could do voiceovers professionally. I will revisit all the videos of yours that I have watched so far but next time on my big screen, as I know I’m not getting the full beauty on my phone. ........... I’m off to search out some more of your gems 👍

awww... thanks Gary. Funny thing you mention the voiceovers, as all my friends keep saying I should do it professionally. I honestly don't see it myself, but then we are always our own worst critics! One thing I really have to improve is my presenting skills which are not very good. I really don't like being in front of the camera, but I'll try and push myself. Thanks for all your really kind words about my videos. I really appreciate it and hope you enjoy them on the big screen. A lot of them are in 4K, so the resolution is really good. Thanks again for your support. Take care. Best wishes, David

I will be visiting the Royal Botanics in July. I have a whole day set aside for the visit. Approximately how many hours would you recommend setting aside for an individual visiting for the first time?
@DavidWheaterScotland3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kalyn, thanks for getting in touch. It really depends what you want to do. If you've never been before, and you'd like to have lunch there and see the Palm Houses, I'd probably schedule about 4 to 5 hours. Plant lovers and botanists would probably want to spend more. Hope this helps and have a great time when you visit. Best wishes, David
