Despite how many channels I see of the beautiful places in and around Scotland I know that if I ever get a chance to see it with my own eyes it will be just as magic as how you present it. Thank you I really enjoyed the videos.

Hi David I didn’t think we would talk again so soon. This video is pure nostalgia - it is my Edinburgh, where I lived and went to school. I lived in Blinkbonny Avenue, just up from Craigleith Drive, with the railway to Leith at the back of the garden - hence my lifelong love of steam engines! A lot of our shopping was done at the village of Blackhall. My first school was Daniel Stewart’s College (now Stewart’s Melville) for a couple of years, then Flora Stevenson’s in Comely Bank on the corner of Orchard Brae. One year of high school was at Bellevue High at Bennington. Thanks for the memories. George

Hi George, hope you’re well and thanks for watching. I’m so glad this brought back good memories. It’s funny how we remember the little things. I was brought up in Corstorphine and they’re demolishing a whole row of shops on the High Street, including a Woolworths where I used to buy all my Vinyls in the early 80,s. It’s a funny thing to get nostalgic about, but you get used to things and realise nothing lasts forever. So glad you enjoyed it. Hope to make more videos from around the city soon. Best wishes, David 🙂

Yes, it's surprising, but apparently the character was based on this lady running a rag n' bone shop in Stockbridge. Edinburgh's always full of surprises! Hope you have a lovely weekend. All the best, David

Hi David, All 3 places are really lovely. You'd never know it was January except for the people wearing winter coats. Been to Stockbridge, Dean Village is absolutely fantastic, but not the Royal Botanic or Inverleith Park. 2 more places on my "to do list" when I get back to Edinburgh. Thanks so much for another great video. Be well!
@DavidWheaterScotland2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Mike, I really appreciate it. Yes, apart from the storms, it really has been the lightest and sunniest January in Edinburgh that I can remember. Today it was 12 degrees which is just extraordinary at this time of year. It's been a real joy to have all this sunshine. The Botanics and Inverleith Park are right next to each other and very easy to combine in one visit. You can also get lunch in the Gateway Restaurant, or the Terrace Cafe, in the Botanics and it makes for a great day out, especially with a walk along the Water of Leith. Hope you can visit us again soon. Thanks again for all your support. All the best, David :-)

Hi Janet, thanks so much for the kind words about the video. I have to admit to having felt a little worried about releasing this one, but it's probably just me being silly! I'm really enjoying making the new series, but I don't want to bore people, but hopefully it's all just in my mind :-) Hope you're well and have had a good week. Thanks again for all your continued support, it's hugely appreciated. All the best, David

@@DavidWheaterScotland I meant to write steps adorned not adored! I have to say that I find your videos uplifting because I am quite depressed by some things that have happy in the past and plan to get professional help. Generally I am well but some therapy would be helpful. Look forward to your next video as I do with other channels.

I do hope you feel better soon. Life can be very challenging at times and I do hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and a million thank you’s for all your support. All the best, David

Hi Alan, it's so good to hear from you. I'm really sorry to hear that work is really challenging just now. Hope you're ok and you manage to get some time off and recover. So glad you liked the videos. I thought it was time I showed off Edinburgh and the 3 locations per video gives me a bit of structure to work to. Yes, you really would love the Botanics. It's very restful and peaceful and the perfect place to chill out. Hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend and thanks again for all your support. It's hugely appreciated. All the best, David :-)

Thanks so much Phil, so glad you liked it and that you found the information useful. I thought it was about time I was a little braver with the presenting and tried to get over more info about the places. Yes, I do love my ‘coffee n’ cake’ lol 😂 It’s one of the things that’s got me through the pandemic when walking has been the only option. Hope all is well with you and family and thanks again for all your support. It’s deeply appreciated. Hope to have another video out this week. All the best, David 😀

It is difficult (and unfair, probably) to rank your videos, David, but this one is near the top of my list. There were many personal associations and memories evoked by the three sites you featured. I'll only mention that I lived in Stockbridge for a while during my Air Force period and two paintings hang in my bedroom that were acquired from Stockbridge shops!
@DavidWheaterScotland2 жыл бұрын
Hi Leon, I’m so glad this has brought back some good memories of Stockbridge. It still retains a lot of character and I do love spending time there. I’m a great collector of photographs & paintings of Edinburgh which has become a really enjoyable hobby. I really need to sit down one day and curate them. Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks again for watching and your continued support. I have a slightly different video coming out tomorrow which I hope you’ll enjoy too. Many thanks, David 🙂
