We are honored to be invited by a young and wealthy Muslim female entrepreneur, Sister Ao, who is the founder and designer of the most famous hijab brand in China. We came to Shadian to visit her studio and shop, and she then took us to visit her family's business.Let's explore her story and see for ourselves.

Most Chinese Muslims are business owners because that has been their tradition since the Tang Dynasty. They are either business owners or work in imperial courts as beurocrat or in the military. Not many are farmers.

That gonna be obvious result, they gonna get Han Chinese as main DNA because their lineage goes back to Yuan or Ming Dynasty. Most Hui Muslims in Yunnan are descendances of Muslims Mongols, Turkic and central Asian military during Yuan Dynasty that were put there in Yunnan by Kublai Khan to suppress rebellion. They end up marrying local Chinese women and adopted Chinese culture and language. So after almost 1000 years most of them already lost their Turkic or central Asian roots and became Han/Hui.
