Hello everyone. To those who are asking the process in application. Here the following steps: 1. Google schools in a particular state. 2. Choose a school and go to a school’s website. 3. Find Human Resource email address and mention the following: a. Introduce yourself, educational attainment, and teaching experience. b. Ask if their school can sponsor you through a J1 exhange teacher program. c. If yes, ask about the teaching certificate if you can take the test when you are already in the US. (This is what happen to me. Our employer agreed we will take the exams for the teaching certificate within one year of our stay in the US.) * It is important that you email the HR about this before you proceed becausemost schools are using online application. You cannot apply online if you do not have some of the requirements like any SSN (this number can only be taken once you arrived in the US), teaching certificate, fingerprint card, and US evaluated transcript of records. d. If the HR said yes, they can sponsor you through a J1. Ask what you will do with all of those requirements I mentioned in step 3. e. If you have a positive response from the HR, follow the steps I mentioned in my first video, You are almost good to go. 🙂 clink link to watch: ➡️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIjbfqKDi7aspLc

This comment/question is directed to Step 3c. Shouldn't the teaching certificate be required before accepting and coming to your applied place of employment? Your employer must be quite lenient in letting you start your work with them, unless your first year there is under probation. So passing the exams must be done in one year or less, as required, and is it mandatory? Now, what is the fate of those teachers who do not pass the tests?
@AlissaLifestyleVlog4 жыл бұрын
ador lo Hi! It is not about being lenient. Employers who employ foreign workers will really give enough time for the teachers to get teaching certificate. Usually, it will reflect on the contract. The teachers will be given a specific time frame. Every district is different. If they cannot pass, they will not be given any contract for the next school year. If that will happen, you can talk to your sponsoring agency if you are a J1 teacher and seek for another school. This is very difficult. Usually schools from far places will accept teachers without certificate then same thing happens. They will be given another year. If you cannot find one to hire you, you need to go home back to your home country.

I subscribed and liked with notifications on ma’am 😃👍🏻. I’m a 11th grade student in high school and I really want to be a teacher📚👏🏻. I like how you do your routine and how good your classroom looks! Also, when do you get to use the restroom as a teacher and what is your restroom procedures in your classroom? I use the restroom during lunch, before/after school, and my 5 minute passing period🚽. In high school, kids would abuse the privileges by walking around not using it😭🤦🏻♂️. 2 teachers I got do 3 passes per 9 weeks and the other 2 let us at appropriate times. I only ask during class when I really need to go and if I can’t hold it until break! I can’t wait for future content on your channel ma’am😊.

This is a great video and thank you for sharing your experiences! I have a question. How did you overcome your fear of speaking up? I think in a group meeting with native English speaking teachers, it must be hard and scary to speak up!! Do you have any tips? Everytime I am in a scenario where I am surrounded with natives, I get really shy and intimidated. How I wish there’s a switch button that will instantly boost my confidence. Speaking up is definitely a struggle for me. Hope you can give a tip. How I wish I can just be as confident as you! I am even scared to answer the phone sometimes. Hayyyyyy! I’m so happy to see that you are succeeding. It’s a motivation for me. Salamat po!

I still feel cold feet talking during a meeting with natives! 😅😬
@jamo77633 жыл бұрын
I can relate to this as well! What helped me was to just jump in and do it! The more I think about the surroundings and the situation, the scarier it becomes. When I started to just go for it and think ‘bahala na’ and then realizing afterwards that it wasn’t so bad, I felt more confident. I also told them that I am still adjusting with thinking in my native tongue and translating into English, and they totally understood that! I have learned that most native speakers don’t really care much about the accent or even the grammar as long as they are able to understand you…I think Filipinos tend to be extremely hypercritical of their English speaking abilities more than the native speakers themselves. It’s okay to make mistakes. It will take time, but keep going :) Hope this helps!
