Thanks for the video. Brings back great memories. My Dad was a grader man for over 30 years. For my 8th birthday he took me to work with him on an old knuckle buster cat. Best birthday ever!! He later ran an Austin Western which he liked much better because of the hydrolics and rear steering capabilities. I used to help him change blades and grease the machine. He was an excellent finish grader operator. Such great memories! I’m now 77 years old and every time I see a grader working I want to stop and watch. These new cats are awesome. Wish he’d gotten a chance to run one of those. Most people don’t know the level of skill it takes to be a real pro on these machines. Keep the videos coming. Will have to see your Camaro. I’ve had three Vettes, currently a 2016 Z06. Man, you’re really blessed. Cool cars and graders!! My two favorite things. 😊

@horacehogan495 thank you very much . I will do my best to make more grader videos. It's difficult to Blade a road and video. But on a straight stretch I can for a little while. I'm going to get a mount for holding my camera so I can do longer play videos. I think people would love to see. Thank you for your watching and if you haven't yet go ahead and hit that subscribe but. I'd greatly appreciate it 🙏

I’ve always flipped my blade up with the nuts on the bottom instead of the way you are doing it much easier to just lay the new edge on top of board and put bolts in if you do a lot of road maintenance I’d highly recommend you look in to carbide cutting edges they stay straight all the time and don’t have to change edges very often I’ve run carbide edges last 10 years I average 2 to 3 years on a set hope this helps thanks for the video.

@graderman140m I've changed Blades that way before. But for whatever reason, I keep going back to this way. It seems easy in my mind, I guess. But I blade for the county, and they provide these blades. I can get a couple of days out of hard blading hard roads. Sometimes 1 day. But i have gotten a week out of them

I dont claim to be a Blade Man by no means , i did run one three yrs for an Ol Boy , drove Trucks off& on 20yrs , Run blade for my county 3yrs , always open to better ways of striving for excellence , done lots of experimenting to see what works better & cutting out pot holes seem to be the better way , for sure!! retired now but i do miss blading them old country roads !! You make it look so easy. I have difficulty with a tractor blade. (3 point linkage). I can control tilt, angle, angle of "cut", and offset. Cant seem to get it so its "right". I think I dont leave the positioning alone long enough. Brilliant "work day stuff"
@outfitsgarage88Ай бұрын
@johnbarham7718 thank you sir it's took years of experience and practice. It's hard to make an angle blade do stuff smooth. I'm better with a box blade on a tractor
