I visited Montevideo back in 2009. Everything in the ciudad viejo looks exactly the same. I really liked the vibe of Montevideo, like a smaller more chill version of Buenos Aires.

Con la "pequeña" diferencia de 22km de explanada de granito y playas de arena blanca al mar/estrecho, a diferencia de BsAs que da al río.

@@pedro7445-x3d I was only there several days. I had backpacked and bussed around S. America and it was one of my stops. I never felt in any danger whatsoever in Montevideo. I have no idea what it is like now though.

Love to see you go to a Yerba Mate plantation to see where it's grown and made.

Thank you for another great video! Since you ask for recommendations, next time you go to Ciudad Vieja you can visit the MUMI (Museo de las Migraciones). It is really tiny, but it has a nice record of all the waves of immigrants that have settled in Uruguay since the early days, when they came, where they came from. It expands your understanding of Uruguayan culture. Not sure it is updated with the latest wave coming from the Caribbean though, you know things happen slowly in Uruguay 🙂

Thanks for showing us the Ciudad Vieja and the museum. I also liked that you explained a bit about the bus system, as well as included a small vocabulary lesson--very educational. Thanks for the great video!
