Hi, I'm gonna give more names of musicians If you're curious about Candombe, I recommend listening to Ruben Rada, If you're interested in murga You can listen to Rumbo and Jaime Roos who makes a mix of Candombe, murga and jazz harmonies. Also TOTEM which is an amazing condom be jazz album made by our best musicians from the 80's. Children's music: Maria Elena Walsh, Cantacuentos, Canticuénticos (yes, those are two different groups), Canciones para no dormir la siesta Acoustic Music: Camila Ferrari, Papina de Palma, Sofia Alves (she also has a trap album)

yes 20.000 is just under $500usd and i am aware that this is considered globally cheap. But a "good" income here is like 30.000 - 40.000 / month so obviously thats not enough to rent alone. So its not just about comparing the prices of items, its about the income and everything else included! :)

What the government's in Uruguay do in education and health with that minuscule GDP has to be an example to many countries to following. California is an economic potency, and the poverty in there and how treat the population is appalling. Do not get sick in the USA because it will cost a fortune or will be poverty forever.

Just a couple of things to mention, I noticed you mispelled and therefore mispronounced Rioplatense, no "e" in between. In the word mini skirt, we do say mini falda but call skirt pollera and the word falda means lap. I would like to add a few Uruguayan movies for you to watch, one is "Togo" which might still be in Netflix, also "a twelve year night", "a bathroom for the pope" is a movie based on a true story.
@marossi081429 күн бұрын
Great video, the only thing is that in Uruguay , the voseo atipico maybe used depending on where that Uruguayan is from, in Montevideo we use "vos" mostly but outside Montevideo it varies, they use "tu" mostly, specially if that person talking to you wants to show a sign of respect and since they do not know you well enough, as a courtesy of respect they may use tu and in some cases if that person is old school or elderly they may even call you usted. Also too, Argentinians don't all talk the same, only Argentinians from Buenos aires speak similar to the ones in Montevideo but from all the other provinces they sound different.
@marossi081429 күн бұрын
Maddie, being that you have been living in Uruguay for 3 years already, hasn't any Uruguayan offered to teach you how to set up your mate?, I have seen in your videos that you keep moving the bombilla around and in and out, you are not supposed to touch or move the bombilla around and also you are supposed to pour the hot water on the bombilla itself, there is a specific way to do it, figured it might be a good video of you learning how to set up your mate the proper way.

If it is the most expensive in South America, that make it more expensive than any other country in Africa, and in most of Asian countries too, so yes, you can say it is one of the most expensive in the world, I'm Uruguayan, and it is more expensive than some Europeans countries too, sad, but it is what it is.. The problem is that the population is so small (3.5M), that the country produces very little, market is very limited.
@MaddieinMVD29 күн бұрын
Ok yes, you have a point. Its hard to think of Uruguay that way because when I think of Expensive countries I think of RICH countries, and I don't know that I would say that about Uruguay. Many people here struggle with the cost of living and it doesn't seem like it was getting any better

Rodrigo is right about people not wanting serious relationships. I believe that its worst in Uruguay than in some other places. There are many reasons for that, and the consequences may not be so evident at this point, but they could be negative in the long term.
@MaddieinMVD29 күн бұрын
I know young single women who ARE looking for serious relationships, but maybe its different with men, or honestly who knows! I don't know if it is just a Uruguay thing either, but I do know almost all of my friends in Australia were in serious relationships by their mid 20's, or are at least WANTING something serious. I think in Uruguay with the cost of living being high, I wonder if it is connected. People not wanting to get married and 'settle down" could be because of that, or it could all just be coincidence!
@LCdic0918 күн бұрын
@@MaddieinMVD The cost of living could be a factor, you are right. The emigration is another one. Young people leaving the country and settling somewhere else, having kids that could've been born in Uruguay, as I did. There's more, but in any case our country is risking negative growth pretty soon, which is scary with such a low population.

@MaddieinMVD29 күн бұрын
No.
