If u want to get some trout go on the reservation, no license or pole required, the fish are in small ponds and sold by weight and if you eant them to fry it up for you, they can for a couple bucks!! They own the restaurant!! Next to the ponds! The kids will remember it for ever!! Priceless!!
@Blueridgemountainlife9 ай бұрын
If you are referring to the place between Cherokee and Maggie at Soco Gap, it closed many years ago. We're not familiar with one on the reservation that does this.

How in the world do you do a feature on Maggie Valley and NOT mention one of the best attractions there? DWTT or Dale's Wheels Through Time is un unbelievable collection of historical motorcycles. From the earliest days of Indian, Traub, Excelsior etc. through WWII and the 50's and 60's. It's worth going even if you're not a gearhead! Dale Walksler R.I.P founded the museum, and his son Matt now does a phenomenal job of keeping everything running and restoring new finds. So cool.

@@bluzzjazz unfortunately we were not able to film in the museum, so we couldn’t include it in our video. We are working to fix that in a future upcoming video. We agree though, super cool place!

You need to mention Ray Fairchild, abd his opera house and the stompin ground, and the old tv show "Fire on the Mountain"!! If you know anything. Get a fishin pole abd get a trout!!
@Blueridgemountainlife9 ай бұрын
Raymond Fairchild passed away about 3 years ago, and the Opry house has been closed. Stompin grounds is only open for special events. But thanks for the suggestions.

It's been a long time since I have been to Maggie Valley even though it relatively not that far. When I was little we was taking one of our family vacations and I vaguely remember stopping on the side of the road take in the view of the valley before and I remember their was a billboard or sign that had Miss Maggie on it - Any got any idea where that spot may be?

Hi, thanks for watching! Most likely, coming down Soco Road from Soco Gap at the Blue Ridge Parkway, between Cherokee and Maggie Valley. The sign is gone now, but the view is still there!

I have stayed at many of the hotels there in Maggie Valley. I personally didn't like the Best Western when we stayed, although it was many years ago. It looks like it has been remodeled since then. We liked the rooms just that after one person took a shower, the hot water was gone. Maybe they have fixed that by now. I do however like the Ramada Inn. Also Jonathan Creek in is very nice as well. We were just up at the beginning of Oct and stayed in a cabin off of Johnathan Creek Rd. I stayed at that Route 19 motel back when I was 4 years old haha. I love how they have redone it. Joey's Pancake House is my favorite! We sometimes drive up for a day trip just to eat there! We always stop in Maggie Mountaineer Crafts too lol. That ice cream at Jelly Bellies is so good. I will have to check out the Maggie Valley sandwich shop next time. Soco falls is so cool to visit. One of my favorite dinner spots is Frankies Italian Trattoria and Butts on the creek. Great video. Very well done.
