You should not indulge those snake charmers - it's cruel and harmful to the snakes, it inflicts severe physical and psychological distress on them. They physically abuse them - defang them, destroy their venom glands, etc. Disgusting and barbaric.

Enjoy !

I’m watching this report in my small town in snow covered and freezing northern Illinois, USA. I am envious of your experience. I am also wishing that I was not too old to join you, but the reality of the matter is my best days of adventure are over. That’s not a complaint. I’m happy to have my memories just as you are collecting yours. Keep going, don’t stop until you’re out of money or can’t move any more. Things like your tea pot become sacred in a few decades. Well done. Keep safe.

Freddie please be careful if you’re planning to cross the atlas tomorrow. I advise you to leave after 10:00 am when visibility is good. There are reports of some snowfall these days and icy temperatures. So beware of slippery roads and don’t drive after sunset. Keep some warm blankets with you in case the tichka snow barrier is in place. Some 15 years ago i got stuck at the snow barrier. Traffic was blocked for some 14 hours. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and traffic forecast. Take care

It's bringing so many memories back, we stayed in a room overlooking that square, at night it came alive and was beautiful but yes, you have to be strong and learn to say no we ended up buying a carpet 😂 but what an experience. It can be dangerous like any city, just don't wander too far from the beaten track. Great video, I still have my Djellaba to this day

Nearly 40 years ago. Same place. Looks the same. I'm sure it isn't, but it sure does look the same. Thanks guys. We haggled over a unique dagger in a sheath for AGES. Bought one (I still have it) thinking what great hagglers we were, walked out of the alley into the square, and there were literally dozens of the things for sale on mats. And yep. So cheap. Good luck with your teapot!! :) All good fun!! And yes, you will have it for ever. Travel safe both of you.

When I first went to Morocco and stayed in Marrakesh in the old part, my senses were completely overloaded. The first thing I had to do is find a roof top cafe to slowly take it all in. Day 2 we found the new part and couldnt quite believe it. It was like being home but with colour and incredible smells and crafts people like you encountered. The Atlas mountains are incredible! But the roads up there back in 2015 were rather ... unpaved in parts so I hope you find the better roads :D

Last time I did the trip from Marrakech to the desert I got stuck in Atlas due to an avalanche, luckly after 7/8 hours a snow plow came and we could continue the trip, I thought I would have to sleep in the car that day, without food and with just a small bottle of water... Great memories, great villages and people along the way. Enjoy!

@FreddieDobbs we got caught by a snow storm up there in the afternoon, the avalanche hit a truck and the road got blocked, once we became aware that we would be spending the night there a snow plow show up and they manage to clean the road at around midnight. Major relief and everyone in the road started to celebrate 😅 no doubt Morroco its an adventure. Now I am wondering when to visit the country again 😂

Recently I parked up out in the countryside to walk my dog. It’s a picturesque place and usually very peaceful; a regular destination and my chance for solitude away from the city. To my shock on this occasion there was an Arab man who pulled up in the lay-by. He blasted out some ott music and bellowed into his snake charming flute! I could still hear him a k away. In all honesty, it ruined the rest of my day; time & place for everything. Great vid Freddie 👍🏻

Hi 👋 brilliantly done ! So good you mentioned that artisan centre , ( near the ancient Katoubia mosque tower ) which is selling crafts at a fixed price , and quality controlled , and helps prevent the confusion , and need to “ haggle “ or negotiate inside the myriad of outlets within the old “medina” / centre of the City . Did you pop into the YSL gardens too ? Enjoy the adventures into the High Atlas Mountains, and beyond !!! Also, perhaps try to stay in a RIAD , old converted courtyard home within the Medina next time ? Check em’out when you get back to GB 🇬🇧
@FreddieDobbs18 сағат бұрын
It’s a very good point- it saves a huge amount of hassle with haggling having those fixed prices. Interestingly, the prices in that artisan centre were the best of anywhere we visited (by quite a big distance)

Loving this series, I remember having dinner on the second floor of a restaurant overlooking Jemaa el-Fnaa square as it started to come alive at night, it was amazing. The souks are insane to navigate, kudos to both of you for finding your way back out. And as someone else mentioned the snake charming is a nasty business, banned in a lot of countries, some have the venom glands removed, have been defanged or have had their mouths partially stitched shut, terrible practice. Looking forward to the next phase over the Atlas mountains and wondering if you guys will be doing the desert camping based out of Merzougah? If you can you I would recommend doing the quad bike rental thing in the dunes, lots of fun and pretty awe inspiring once you get out into the dunes. Thanks
